Comments:
Smart, hardworking, efficient, careful, cares about attorneys and knows the burdens on them -- all of the positive qualities you would want in a trial judge. Doesn't allow attorney questioning in voir dire, and conducts his own voir dire extremely fast, which, in one case, resulted, awkwardly, in the empanelment of a juror who spoke no English (he dismissed her after she had been sworn and the trial proceeded without her). Had he not been going so fast, and/or had he allowed attorneys even a little voir dire, this wouldn't have happened. His only flaw may be temperamental -- behind his courteous and scholarly demeanor he hides a short fuse, and is capable of fits of temper and shouting at counsel in front of the jury.

A true bumbling fool with little understanding of the law. A disgrace to the bench and the judicial system as a whole. A recent 2A decision demonstrates he would be better suited to traffic court, at best... His ignorance WILL be corrected by a more competent court in the future, that is guaranteed.

Ruled that a very handicapped kid who was not provided 100's of hours of therapy at school was not denied FAPE.

Look at what Judge Saylor did to a pro-de plaintiff against Wells Fargo in open court. Just imagine what he does to the rest of us in the secret FISA courts.

This judge is either lazy or does not have the capacity to undertake complex cases. He showed a clear bias towards Justice Department opinions, and adopted that Department's misleading and inaccurate language in his decision. One of his opinions contained several factual errors, which indicates that he is either careless or lazy. I just read that he sits on the FISA court, and although he recently sided with the ACLU on the Snowden case, this is troubling.

Very poor manners. I personally witnessed an instance where something was being reported to "His Honor" and when the person was finished reporting the judge, without looking up or saying a word, waved the person out of his chambers with the back of his hand. Apparently they were not important enough to acknowledge. Why is it necessary for him to behave like that?

Very fair conduct of trial for a former AUSA and justice department official. Willing to depart from guidelines; not looking to bury in sentencing when given any reasonable opportunity to sentence below guidelines.
