Comments:
I have very mixed feeling about Judge Ellington. She is extraordinarily inclined to indulge plaintiffs in flights of legal fancy that far exceed the scope of the underlying claims and her territorial jurisdiction. This results in fairly simple cases turning into boondoggles, epic in size and time. On the other hand, she is quite evenhanded once you finally get to summary judgment and trial. Her scholarship is also quite thorough and clearly expressed. The best aspect of Judge Ellington is that she rules very quickly, oftentimes obviating the need of the nonmoving party to file a response.
