She is not afraid to rule against the government or an actor of the gov. I have appeared before her in several cases and you certainly know what you are getting, she is not a wild card. She gave me some of the best advice from a federal judge.
Her demeanor is not perfect by any means.
I appreciate her coming down hard on the government when it is evident the government has commented harm. See Baker v. City of Houston.

I believe she is being abused at home or was abused as a child. I find it incredibly hard to believe that anyone that's been through the a move mentioned could be a decent human being. She is not a decent human being, she will intentionally throw your case because you have challenged her. She is very Rude, Insecure and Partial. If she does not like you, your rights do not matter.

God bless this lady.

Exceptionally biased - makes decisions based on how she feels and not the legal argument behind them. Has no issue giving her opinion with no reasoning to back it up. She will decide if she likes you or not before you walk through the door.

Ultra-conservative. Heavily favors big business / large companies. Does not believe in civil rights or that the little-guys have valid claims. Consciously ignores binding law to rule in favor of big business.
(This is based on multiple experiences by multiple attorneys.).

Well as human nature, we don't want to accept when we done something wrong and we always blame someone else for our failures, then when time comes to answear, we don't like when it did not go our way, yes on this lifetime we may are able to buy some powerful people like Judges or governor ETC,just to get away from price we have to pay, unfortunately as soon as we don't get our way, we start bad mouth others, finally we have someone that do care about whats right and what's wrong and you can't buy her in your favor
Question is in next life, are we able to buy God in our favor ?
She is THE MOST AMAZING FEDERAL JUDGE EVER , SHE IS PROFFESIONAL AND POLITE

ALL THUS UNFAITHFUL JUDGES SHOULD LOOKUP TO HER AND LEARN TO DO THEIR JOB RIGHT

Ignorant. Obnoxious. Evidently challenged and thoroughly deficient in areas of intellect, character, class, etiquette, integrity, decorum. Clearly a "ZERO" in several of the above rating categories, but no option for that.

Comments:
Unlike some judges, Judge Johnson actively participated in the settlement of a fairly technical matter. She gave reasoned suggestions and advice, and the case settled quickly. Both sides were comfortable with the outcome.

Comments:
It appears that, after reading all of the comments about this judge, she is not very well liked -- but this is not a scientific poll. It is, however, a place to vent frustrations about this judge, and so far all but one comment has been negative. She has been on the magistrate bench for 23 years and it is time for her to say "adios!"

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: 20788
Rating:4.0
Comments:
This judge is intelligent but she has an awful demeanor, making faces, rolling her eyes and huffing during argument. She is useless for settlement negotiations as she does not understand the dynamics of settlement, or how to leverage or move the parties' positions, choosing instead to bully her way through the process.

Magistrate Johnson cannot be a fair person or objective. She has a short temper, tends to be bias, distort evidence for a personal gain, vengeance
has no respect for freedom and liberty, could be cruel and disrespectful

If she doesn't like you or your case -- which she seems to decide right off the bat -- look out. Very opinionated and very pro-defense. Her personal bias guides her judgment.

Comments:
very clearly demonstrates that she believes that everybody appears before her should go to prison and wait for trial. Is not polite nor formal in the court room. She does not listen to the defense, sides with the government and sometimes not even the government if she thinks they're not hard enough. Judges on her opinion that has been decided well before court starts and not of facts.

Comments:
Pretty heavy-handed - little more than a thug in a robe. Makes up her mind about a case VERY EARLY, with little regard to facts or law, and makes rulings accordingly. Keep your flak jacket on hand if she doesn't like you, your client or your case because you WILL be blasted, regardless of anything else. Bottom line: her personal feelings/biases interefere with her ability to be a fair and impartial judge.

A former Assistant U.S. Attorney, Magistrate Johnson appears to favor the government.

Wow. Makes up her mind before she walks through the door. Very arbitrarily biased. Has trouble controlling her personal demeanor if she does not like you, and would not be as bad if she did not let it affect her rulings. Could stand a refresher course in judicial decorum and impartial administration of justice - or possibly on how you really get respect: you treat others with respect.

If you are a male going in for family court be prepared to lose. Have seen her several times over the past year and only saw one male do well in her court...he was lucky enough to have an ex who failed drug tests twice and have that ex not show up in court.

Comments:
I currently have a case before her that was assigned by Judge Lake. We have agreed to allow her to try the case after two separate hearings. I found her to be even-handed, well versed in the specifics of our case, and well prepared for hearings. It was obvious that she had read material in advance and was prepared with the questions that she felt a need to ask. She was willing to listen to both sides and seemed to rule in an impartial manner.

Very opinionated magistrate, who likes to resolve cases on motions, with a predetermined outlook. Very pro-defense, and very much against civil rights.

She is competent and has a good pleasant temperament. Trial before her ran fairly smoothly. Her trial rulings were generally good. Her delay in issuing rulings left something to be desired.

Former Assistant U.S. Attorney handling criminal cases. Has the potential to be a good judge, but lets her personal biases control her judgment.
