I would move heaven & earth to avoid her courtroom unless my clients were male law enforcement officers, who in her eyes can do no wrong. She is disrespectful to litgants & attorneys and cares less about due process than keeping to the schedule. She is a nice person outside the courtroom.

Judge Reade is a very biased judge--especially if you go before her on a drug charge. [red. Ed.] Getting hooked on drugs is more a disease needing treatment NOT a prison sentence!! She wouldn't even let my son get a new lawyer and we find out 2 years later that he was probably high on coke at the time of the trial!! My son knew the lawyer was using because he recognized the signs but still couldn't get a different lawyer!! She has her mind made up on the sentence BEFORE she goes into the court room! How is this justified? She is totaly stricter than necessary. Where is the Innocent until proven guilty" at?? Not in her court room

Our court system would be truly blessed if it had more judges like Linda Reade. She is fair to both sides, (both in praise and critism) and explains her decisions thoroughly. She wants things in her courtroom done right and in a timely manner. Most of all--she is one tough cookie and remains human without a big ego. She does her job, and does it well.

I wrote my opinion of Hon. Judge Linda R. Reade before I read the adverse opinions herein listed; however, many of those adverse opinions appear to be submitted as a result of a stiff sentence issued in one criminal case. My original opinion remains. Criminals that steal life savings of retired people deserve the most harsh penalties allowed. Keep up the good work Judge.

Judge Reade is a very dedicated jurist. She is very knowledgeable about the facts and the law and her opinions are more thorough than those issues by the appellate courts. Even when you loose a motion, you know why factually and legally, and can respect the effort that was taken to understand your point of view, even if you disagree.

I set at 30 day trial in Judge Riede's court room and found her to be expertly knowledgable, fair to both sides, precise in scheduled timing. She was firm but fair in her courtroom.

Over the past 40 years, I have appeared in at least 14 different United States District Courts, many of which included multiple different judges. Judge Reade is by far the most-government oriented, unfair, mean-spirited and vindictive judge I have ever appeared before. She has no business being on the bench.

You obviously have no idea of some of the ruthless, unfair, unrealistic rulings Judge Reade has done. She takes the law and "Relaxes" it when she feel like and "heavily in forces" without considering all of the factors on other times. She should not be on the bench. She is an embarassment to our judicial system.

Having appeared before Judge Reade during the past two years, I find that she is very intelligent, she issues decisions promptly, and her decisions are well reasoned. Even when she issues a decision adverse to your clients, she will give her reasons. I recognize that Judge Reade will issue lengthy criminal sentences; however, she will give a criminal defendant every opportunity during the trial. The harsh comments on this site do a disservice to her intelligence and dedication on the bench. I wish all judges had the same work ethic, and intelligence as Judge Reade does.

Judge Reade gets pleasure from seeing other people in pain, she loves seating in her robe and looking on the person while sending him to jail, I cant believe she is still judge its a digrace for the USA

Judge Reade shoots from the hip, seems ignorant of most case precedent, and conducts her courtroom like an incompetent child. Her decisions will be temperamental and arbitrary, and she has no shame in openly favoring the prosecution. In 30 years arguing in 6 different districts, I have never seen such an obviously out-of-control judge.
What a disgrace.

This Judge does not belong on the stand. She is am embarassement to the US Government. It is clear that she does not see any good in anyone. She is suppose to be a mediator but instead she is a prosecutor, the jury and the judge. She does what she wants regardless of the law...she tends to "relax" the law whenever she decides.

This is a judge who clearly has her mind made up before even entering the courtroom. Any legal argument advanced which may not support her preconceived notions is summarily dismissed. Rules by personal fiat and extremely temperamental.
The Rubashkin case only highlighted what most IA attorneys have known for years- in Judge Reade's courtroom, due process is a fantasy.

Being a harsh judge who is known to mete out punishments to the fullest extent of the law is not necessarily a bad thing, already ratified deals prior to a single lawyer even talking to his or her client is direct violation of Rule 11 plea procedure, which provides that ‘the court must not participate in these plea discussions.”

Outstanding jurist who runs a tight ship and holds both sides feet to the fire. Firm but fair, believes in sentencing guidelines and not swayed by liberal opinions when it comes to sentencing. We need more like her!!

She has her mind made up before she ever looks a defandant in the eye. She is so hardened by her career that she fails to see the good in anyone. It is easy to tell she is a bitter, unhappy older woman with no family.
