Judge Tharp is a perfectionist. He could serve the country better at the Appellate level or higher.

Comments:
Judge Tharp sometimes starts his call early. Be warned. We were up second on a 9:30 call and showed up a couple minutes late. We sat through his entire call to discover that the case had already been called (seven and a half minutes early according to the transcript) and he had granted the opponent's motion in our absence. We would not have opposed had we been asked, but it seems a bit of a lapse not to even ask.

Intelligent. Good temperament. Seemingly fair and hard working. Well prepared. Off to a good start.
