Judge Thorson needs to put aside her obsession with status and focus on doing her job evenhandedly and without ego.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: 31188
Rating:3.7
Comments:
This judge does not consistently permit both parties to be heard, and makes decisions based on information only one side has presented, which is not in the record or argued or even at times presented to the other side. She is frequently demeaning and belittling to attorneys rather than genuinely trying to learn what is happening in the case, although I have only witnessed her act that way toward females. She does not apply rules consistently or in an even-handed manner, and is highly contentious sometimes while at other times she appears almost meek and friendly for no predictable or apparent reason. During settlement discussions, she has disclosed confidential information from caucused sessions to an opposing party without permission. I have had multiple cases before her, and the more involved she is, the more of a mess the cases have become. She scolds counsel when they agree on things and stipulate to matters that other judges would be glad are resolved.
