Litigant

Comment #: 33646
Rating:Not Rated
Comments:
Judge Friot is as close as you can get to those who stormed the Capital. If you client is white and he likes you, great, otherwise the defense attorney could ask for anything and Friot would sign it. He is a despicable judge, I would give him less than one star if all possible.

Civil Litigation - Private

Rating:9.5
Comments:
Judge Friot and Judge Cauthron are the brightest judges in our district. He is the best judge we have in grasping complex commercial transactions and disputes. He works very hard, and expects lawyers to do the same. Although he seems to come to decisions quickly, even when I've lost before him I have never felt as though he acted on a whim or out of bias. He is very confident, but he holds oral arguments on motions more than anyone else and gives everyone their due. If you come unprepared or late, you may be embarassed. He has a strong moral compass, but he is not pious and makes decisions on the law and facts. He is a little harsh at times about arcane aspects of the local rule. I don't agree with the negative view of him posted by others.

Comments:
The prior entry is dead right. Judge Friot picks his result, then works his way backwards. His number one priority is docket clearing. Law and justice are far down the list.

Criminal Defense Lawyer

Comment #: 6157
Rating:4.3
Comments:
He forms opinions quickly with little consideration of the facts and arguments, thus his opinions can be poorly reasoned and just plain wrong. Docket clearing seems to be his first priority.
