All of what has been said about her is true. She is one of the most hard working, kind-hearted judges on the Federal bench. She works long hours to prepare for each and every case. Her docket moves quickly.

As an out-of-state plaintiff's counsel, admitted pro hac in a removed case, I had an exceptional experience before Judge Thynge some time ago. [In Chambers: "Call me Mary Pat."]

Her Honor had only one thing before her: a single civil case and she was concerned with it and cared about the parties and the lawyers and was determined to get it settled. She was a literal workhorse and spoke, cajoled, researched, and spent hours to get the case settled.

I was impressed with her then and, reflecting back, have not had appeared before many federal judges that could match her for being a complete and total package: a caring, prompt, knowledgeable, likeable, extremely professional and top tier model judge.

I am pleased that so many colleagues think as highly of Her Honor as I do , yet slightly disappointed that she has not been elevated to a District Judge. A true credit to the federal judiciary.

This is the best judge in the federal judiciary. I have seen her come to work in blizzards, rather than have out of state counsel miss a hearing for which they travelled. She is smart, incisive, fair and eventempered. We need 100 more like her.

There's not much I can say about Judge Thynge that hasn't already been said before. I have appeared before her in her capacity as a mediator as well as in cases to which the parties stipulated to her in lieu of a District Judge. Her commitment to the mediation process is incredible; she will go hours without food or drink or a break to get a case settled (and expects the parties to do the same!). She comes into mediations fully apprised of the issues and ready to discuss with the parties the strengths and weaknesses of a case. As a presiding judge, her qualities are the same. She is even-handed, fair, and EXTREMELY well-prepared.

Do not go before Judge Thynge in mediation or trial without knowing your case - because she will likely know your case better than you do!

The great thing about her is that unlike much of the current Federal bench, she practiced law as a private litigator before being appointed to the bench, so she knows how to try a case.

A model judge. The entire District Court bench should take lessons. She has remarkable integrity. She is able to navigate the often challenging personalities of the legal profession with ease. Her objective is always the same--to resolve the matter before her in the most fair and rational way--and she does so expeditiously, unlike most of her colleagues. She has no trouble with the most complex legal questions and always does her homework. It is a true honor to practice before her.

One of the hardest working judges ever. Incredibly intelligent and able to mediate very complex disputes succesfully.

She is the most down-to-earth, sensible magistrate before whom I have ever appeared. She also works incredibly hard - she ran a settlement conference in one case I had from 4 p. m. to 11 p. m. She was present the whole time. The system should clone her.
