I am amazed that the courts, in this case Judge Coffey, seem to ignore even their own orders. My daughter had to go back to court to ask the court to award her her own property that she had even before she was married. Sentimental things that her ex decided to keep. It was placed in a storage unit that she ended up paying for after making arrangements to pick it up before the sale of their house. She lives out of state. When she arrived to pick up her belongings, most of them were not there. There were empty DVD cases, literal garbage, empty boxes, torn and stained matrasses, much of what was not hers. She was informed that her ex had been to the unit just before signing it over to her and was seen removing items from it and placing them in another unit. He ex has not paid for the unit and so a few days ago the unit went up for auction with her belongings in it. She knows because of the pictures on the site. I have found that the courts in AZ really don't give a damn about the people who come through their system, especially women. Christmas ornaments for her boys from their great aunt are gone, music boxes form her grandparents are gone and all because the courts don't follow through. It's a joke.

Failed to read anything presented to him, gave away sole and separate personal property clearly against the law, gave children to a man who on the stand stated that he'd tried to commit suicide in the past and explained how he would do it ON THE STAND. Has endangered the children with taking them away from their mother who was a stay at home mom and took care of them day in and day out from the day they were born and gave them to a man who couldn't even remember simple things like what dentist they went to when he went to the same dentist, and who had no idea how to even register them for school or take care of them day in and day out!! The man couldn't even figure out how to use the clothes washer!! Children are failing in school, self harming, and he has alienated them from their mother by lying nonstop about her and this judge did nothing about it with the mountains of evidence presented proving all of this. This judge wouldn't even grant mother her name change that she requested on page ONE of her response! Allowed for clear lies to pass as truth in court (statements that mother filed for divorce when clearly she was listed as the respondent) and gave everything to father that they had ever jointly owned. 50/50 state? Not with this judge. He listened to my ex say that he was selling off our joint property and some of my personal property and didn't care!! Less than a month after giving my ex custody, he got my kids into a major car accident that flipped the vehicle at a 4 way stop. Ironically he's stated before that he's thought about killing himself in a traffic accident, but did this judge care about the endangerment? Of course not!! I've heard about him giving custody to fathers who have kidnapped and killed their children. This judge doesn't deserve to be on the bench [redacted by Ed.]

This judge should be disrobed. There is nothing honorable about taking children away from their mothers, good mothers, to give them to proven and charged abusive fathers. My children are safe now, but I will never forgive this judge for the choices he made to ignore evidence and side with someone because he knew their family from church. My children will never forget those bearings and chokings and having their hair pulled by their father. He has to live with that, and he does it all the time to families in Mesa.

The worst Judge doesn't care about the children involved. Gave joint custody to my ex husband that has a domestic violence felony. Didn't look at any of the evidence. He makes money helping addicts and sending then to state funded rehabs

My case was predetermined from the git go and he was paid off crooked as a politician. He does not know the meaning of Integrity or equalization those words are to big for him he doesn't even show his face during hearings and trial. Street thugs have more heart than this mother hater. Paid off and exparte with opposing council but no conscience about it he has tenure and takes no responsibility or liability for his bad decisions of my precious child's life who I told to have faith that things would be okay. Well he is not okay being trafficked away from everything and everyone he has ever loved 2000 miles away by a malicious parent who did not even let him hug his mother and tell her goodbye sold him to the highest bidder your disgusting Rodrick

Where I do begin? After mountains of evidence that my now ex-son-in-law lied on the stand, manipulated evidence, disregarded his own petition requirements and the court orders from the judge, withholding evidence that had been subpoenaed, he comes out with residential custody of the boys as well as getting everything, even my daughter's personal possessions that were stated on the Family Law Interrogatory... as hers, I could tell you the page and date of the document. how is it htat in a 50/50 state, he is allowed to keep her things? I have 4 plus boxes of documents and audio recordings that include, among other things, my grandsons stating they would rather be with their mother. Coffey needs to be investigated and the court needs to train its judges on what abuse from a narcissist looks like. Emotional abuse is as devasting as physical. I have also heard that perjury is a joke in Family Court. Really? These are children's lives we are talking about, not some piece of furniture!

I had a close family member in front of judge coffee and my honest opinion.. he is a very fair judge overall if you can actually back up your own testimony with factual hard evidence. Not just blather and expect him or anyone else to believe it just cause you or your friend says it under oath. show the hard proof and he rules fairly.

The Maricopa County Family Court Circus is a play for pay racket and Rodrick Coffey is the one of the Ringleaders of the Judicial Clown Posse. The Dog and Pony Show taking place in Rodrick's courtroom is nothing short of Judicial Tyranny. His rulings are illegal and unconstitutional, and if you appeal his decisions, there will be hell to pay because he will retaliate. He Obviously does not know how to use a phone. He is just as bad as the men that are obviously being taken to court. He don't care for the best interest of the child at all. I swear If my son hurts himself in the meant time of him being temporarily away from me I will come back to you for letting him go into the hands of his mental and emotional abuser. Shame on you for doing what you did. How do you sleep at night knowing that you have destroyed a little boy's hopes and dreams. Not just mine but several children that you have put in danger. How are you still a judge? DO YOU HAVE KIDS? I sure hope not. If you do I hope that your wife divorces you and takes you for all you got. I pray that God helps you that you. Didn’t even have the case infront of him during a hearing he is not even visible for. No compassion for children and indigent mothers being bullied by fathers and their attorneys is best in his book. He is a horrible human horrible judge and I hope it all falls back on him. Handing my child over to a molester wouldn’t even show his face on the screen wants to be the voice of God. Wont be liable or take responsibility for his decision and what he rules on. He has tenure is not a parent and probably never will be. Let’s hope not he has cursed his future children by all that I have read about his cruelty to parents who love their children. He rips families apart. He ordered my ex to only pay me 100$ for the last 3 yrs so I go to ask for more money and instead I loose all rights to my child and am ordered to pay 372.00$ to my ex when I’m not even working just found out I have a brain lesion. If I don’t pay then my ex can move away with my son to Michigan. The order is dated Nov 3 and I already owe a payment as of the 1st. I’m indigent, I’m not a addict or abusive but because of my ex’s skanky lawyer who the judge let make the order he signed I have no rights and have not even hugged my child in 3 months or talk to him on the phone. Judge Coffey is the worst. I provided serious information about my child’s father. His health, his domestic violence record, his gang affiliation, was recently shot, he’s never had a job or supported my children. I’ve been everything for my children since day one. Suddenly children’s father pops up and wants visitation and gets it! He even has a violent case in court now against him! My kids aren’t safe I’m sick while their dad has them every other weekend. Why didn’t Coffey care to protect my children! Why are my kids in danger because Coffey wanted to give my childrens father the chance to mess up!

JUDGE Coffey favors fathers and enjoys taking kids away from good mom's. He likes to give full custody to one parent and takes shared custody away without backing up why. Horrible! He also does not make the winning parent provide all Financials which makes the Child Support unfair. If you get this judge for family court immediately request a new family Judge.

Judge Coffey is the worst judge. Hands down incompetent and completely biased. 1. I did not get my due process being that it was a telephonic hearing because of COVID. 2. I did not get to completely plead my case and submit all of my exhibits to evidence showing the judge how unfit the father is. 3. My witnesses who have watched the father be verbally and emotionally abusive...didnt even get to talk. 4. The judge took what the father said as word without showing evidence. The Father lied and said i withheld his son from him which was the furthest from the truth. 5.The father lied about his income and said it was lower than what he reported at the beginning of the process when he filed again. Judge coffey order the Aff. For Fin. Info and the father didn't turn it in. How could he just look over that?! 6. Ironically after the hearing I get a notice that I have to pay the court fees when I was told I didn't have to! The father reopened under the original case file to prove paternity and messed it up. I had to be changed back to being the petitioner so the cost falls on me?! He makes 3x more in income than I do!!!! How is he not responsible for the case that HE reopened?!

My witnesses, which included my ex husband who I have a great coparenting friendship with, all said that I got robbed by Judge Coffey. So now my son will be at risk for being harmed by his father because his father cannot handle him and will get frustrated with my son and abuse him. Then if my son gets seriously harmed or even killed, it will be too late....that is on Judge Coffeys head. I feel sorry for anyone who has this judge because proper hearings will not occur and Judge Coffey just passes things off so he can collect his paycheck. There is no fair hearing with him. What a fraud! Ask for a judge reassignment.

Less than 1 is my opinion of this judge.
My nephews are failing since they have been living with their father full time, they have asked for their own attorney and a therapist both have been denied. One of my nephews has always been a straight a student and #1 in his class. This judge will not even consider a custody change.

He even told my attorney he was reversing his decision and then went and denied everything. Took my kids from me. Said I would promote a relationship with the other parent and still took them. He is a terrible Judge. No justice here. We have a case pending on a grandparents seeking custody of our grandchildren. DCS allowed the children to go with their mother who in the last 10 years have only visited with the children 17 days a year and willing gave up custody. We have been a daily part of their lives for the past 14 years. now only to be cut out of their lives and the trial dates to be continued twice now. This start back in July 2018 and new trial date is in June 2019. we have not had any communication or visits with our grandchildren since later part of 2018. It seem that this judge does not take what is in the nest interest of the children into account. and ignores grandparents. Mesa Arizona residents be careful of this judge he is not working to protect families or our children.

I don't believe Judge Coffey believes in making it possible for relationship with the 'other' parent to be maintained. So many barriers in his orders to children realistically being able to have visitation even with supervision. Favored parent sounded good in court as being willing to support children's family relationships, but years of history show a crushing narcissism that Coffey obviously would not consider. Financial orders not only so unrealistic to even make support payments but pay for visitation, so children may not get to see 'other' parent until adulthood. Thought the point of Family Court was not just protect children but support wherever possible children actually having a relationship with both parents - guess not. The CAA barely prepared - Judge's orders absolutely devastating. Pray you never have to get into the SE courtroom of Judge Coffey.
