Comments:
Judge Cohen was kind to me. He is the only Judge in Maricopa County who actually listened to me, and heard me. It was the only compassion I ever saw in my case. However small it felt a little humanizing.

Comments:
He is the worst Judge ever I had done everything I can to be there at all the court hearings I was not told there would be another court hearing to take my rights away I pretty much was a single mother the father was no help and this judge did not care he gave my kid to someone who wanted me to abort her. That person don’t love my daughter.

While a dependency court judge, he continued a case for approximately 22 months involving a child under 3 yrs old (CAPTA violation). Child had been removed from mother. Mother was a no show at every court hearing except the last. Judge Cohen kept the case open in spite of mother being a no show for 21 months worth of hearings and violated CAPTA. #followthemoney
He also sided with AZ DCS most of the time and did not follow thru with his own court orders 90% of the time.
#notdisinformation
Given he is now presiding judge of family court maybe he has seen the error of his ways while he was in dependency court by seeing the outcomes of the legal abuse done to kids/ parents/families who are court ordered into family court from dependency court.

His experience in family law is a tremendous asset. His staff is difficult to reach, but his rulings are consistent, thorough and appropriate. Hopefully his staffing situation will improve with time.
