After seeing all of the reviews, I have realized that my experience with this judge, and her obvious bias, is not unique. It is amazing that this woman is still on the bench. In my case she seemed to know opposing counsel and was kissing his ass like crazy. Of course I lost, even though the facts and law were on my side. Alameda County should do better than Judge Desautels. Much better.

This MAN-HATER gave me a restraining order although I never ONCE called nor texted my ex-fiancee after I broke up with her. Her explanation is "that's why I'm only giving you 2 years instead of 5, 4 or 3!" A friend commented sarcastically "She did you a favor!"

This lady is very very biased. So much so she violates the law and her decisions. I would like to partner with others who had the unpleasant experience of going before this judge and file a formal complaint with the state bar.

She violated numerous times. My ex-wife claimed I had a violent criminal history to obtain a restraining order the judge was supposed to check my criminal history before granting the restraining order she didn't this is a violation of California law. That's just one example. Her judgments are always in favor of the female party.

Wow! I thought no one would ever speak about this Judge. I am glad people have started writing. Kudos! to you all ! Judge Tara Desautels is not only Amateur and Arrogant, she favors and is completely biased if anyone ever opens her mouth and questions her Judgement. I have paid the price heavily by questioning her Judgement and she gave my minor child's custody to a History sheeter Criminal without questioning.. She used her authority as a Judge to favor the Other party and I strongly believe she has done favors because I have evidence against this Judge.She is not Competent in any way, and her credibility and decisions is being questioned by every authority involved in my case. I hope the Commission takes action against this Judge Desautels for there are lots of litigants who are suffering and its unfortunate no one can do anything as she is on the Judges seat.

I must agree with the other review; she doesn't pay attention or listen very well. I'm in the midst of having to appeal a judgment with OBVIOUS errors(things that she should pretty much know, or easily look up before opening her mouth to make a ruling), that shouldn't have ever made it to this point in the 1st place. She may have been great in her role as a lawyer, but I seriously question her ability to preside over a courtroom.

An amateur judge with a short temper and a biased decision-making capability. She does not like to consider the facts. She does not understand the cases, but she wants to demonstrate that she is a judge to parties by showing her power.
