He doesn't understand basic real estate law and is VERY arrogant, which amounts to a judge that is wrong many times on straightforward issues but won't change his incorrect opinions. You'll need to be patient with him and teach him the law as if he is a student. Quite sad for a Superior Court Judge. I believe he is dangerous due to his lack of basic knowledge, which causes parties to spend unnecessary funds drafting motion after motion and attending hearing after hearing to correct his mistakes. I would not allow him to preside over any case that I represent in the future.

This is the first judge that I've left a review for. I felt it necessary because I've been in his courtroom for quite a while now and know him relatively well as a judge.

My review is based on real estate law matters. I have no experience with him otherwise; however, I have observed him argue with counsels in other matters where he advanced clearly incorrect statements of the law regarding basic civil procedure.

This review and rating is an honest assessment and not made out of spite or anger. Beware.

Arrogant beyond belief, condescending, patronizing; was wrong about so much of the law but does not bother to question his wrong opinions. Literally got an order completely wrong that cost me thousands. A joke of a judge and person.

First his courtroom is very friendly. He tries to keep decorum, but is not overbearing and he is personable. Secondly, if he does not know an answer to a legal question he will take the time and effort to go into his chambers and do research until he comes up with the answer. He showed absolutely no bias to one side or the other. Would take him in every trial I ever have in the future and although represented the defense in this case am also an active plaintiff's attorney and would take him on a plaintiff's case.

Recently tried a case in front of this judge and found him to be extremely conscientious and was all around excellent in his rulings and how he handled the courtroom. He was knowledgeable about the law, read the cases and actually had them in front of him while arguing motions in limine. Throughout trial, his rulings were well reasoned and correct even though I was on the wrong side of some of them. One of the best judges in LA County. If you get him, hold on to him because he is a good one. I would try every case I had in front of this judge.

I had the opportunity to sit in Judge Tamzarian's courtroom observing several cases. I was very impressed with his compassion. He was very patient and gave everyone a chance to say everything they needed to say. He explained rules & definitions clearly to those without an attorney. He took time to make sure everyone understood his orders and why he made the decision he did.

This judge would probably be a great mediator, but doesn't seem to have sufficient knowledge or experience to adjudicate family law matters. Loves to talk. More interested in doing what he believes is fair instead of what the law requires. Doesn't understand parental alienation. Probably rules from instructions of the Supervising Judge. Will always 170.6 him from now on.

Biased. As the petitioner with insurmountable amounts of proof and exhibits. The court did not review all. Let Respondent be heard and believed without any burden of proof. This judge is dangerous and is not looking to protect children.

I have been a family law litigant for over 9 years. It is refreshing to see a family law Judge be lawful and have the best interest of the children top priority in their courtroom. I have been following Lexi and Ruby's case since the beginning. Happy Lexi is coming home! Time for healing!

I see so many crimes in the news, 2 years for rape, 7 years for manslaughter, gee I even had a friend sentenced to LIFE and she got out in 12 years! Thank-you for upholding the law in Orange County's family court system. Hopefully it will allow my friend, who did nothing other than file for divorce, to see her child. It has been years of alienation and now you're giving her a chance. Thanks Honorable Armen!

I have been monitoring this case from the beginning. It's refreshing to finally see a judge following the law. It has been far too long Lexi Dillon hasn't been allowed to see or speak to her Mother. John Cate should not be involved in any case. His interests are NOT in the well being of any child or family.

Thank You For taking Ruby Dillon's case in a serious manner. John Cate should not be involve in this case neither should represent any minor. He represented my children and he side their dad to the point that he told me " if you don't accept all the terms that dad wants your children are going to end up in a foster home" . John Cate needs to be out of this case. Children need to be protected not harm.

I've been following Lexi's case very closely. It's refreshing to see a judge finally look out for children! I want to thank him for doing the right thing. Very thoughtful and thorough judge. He does not tolerate game playing at all - not by the parties and not by attorneys. He is very fair though, and truly makes sure all parties get their day in court. He is very patient with parties who are in pro per. I believe he is truly interested in making decisions which are in the best interest of the children involved.
