Best settlement judge I have ever had.
Had a walking wounded case with arising out of an MVA... defense naturally claimed my client was exaggerating .... Spain got them to see the exposure they were risking based on similar jury verdicts in other jurisdictions. She had done a lot of research! Love to go back to her. Wish she was in my county!

I regularly appear in her courtroom for PXs and have had 4 trials in front of her. Got acquittals on two and her sentencing in the other two was less than DA requested. One case, she didn't hold my client to answer. No complaints about her. I found her to be fair to both sides. If you are prepared, make a good showing, you'll get a fair shake. Surprised by other comment about civil matters. She's been doing criminal exclusively for 7 or 8 years now, I think. She does her own research and will explain her rulings. She doesn't swallow whatever the DA says - you can't complain about that since its so rare!

She is punitive, short-tempered, and favored the civil defense attorney in our case. I would absolutely challenge her in any civil plaintiff's PI case.
