I was a potential juror in Judge Haynes courtroom in 2008. She treated three jurors with public disrespect and ridicule. I reported her behavior to the Supervising Judge of the Criminal Courts and was told the proceedings were reviewed there was a conversation with the judge. The last comment (below) was posted in 2015 so it appears she has not made any change in her demeanor and behavior. She's a disgrace to the judicial system.

One of the most disrespectful, volatile and unpleasant judges I have had the misfortune to appear before.

This judge has a mental defect. Perhaps she's bi-polar. Whatever it is, she should not be on the bench. Just take a peek in her courtroom at any time - assuming she's there! This court could easily function without the prosecutor - she completely takes over. Don't force her to rule on any disputes - she can't handle that - just make sure everyone leaves with a conviction.

The negatives: she is a complete control freak; everything has to be just so for her, and she goes crazy if you deviate from the routine. And because lawyers aren't really good at following the routine, she will lose her temper. But, no one works harder than she does. She respects attorneys that fight for their clients, and will reward their efforts by listening to their arguments, reading their motions, and giving fair hearings. She also is amazing with defendants; she talks to them, not down to them. She cares about the mentally ill and the addicted, and believes in curing the problem, not simply warehousing them. I will brave her temper to put my clients in front of her anytime.
