When you have the California State Bar is known for being audited for allowing corrupt lawyers to practice for years and still is not open to investigations on complaints you have an explanation why Judge Mohr is a judge in California. If your goal is to rip people off while being incompetent at the same time California is a good state to be a lawyer and a judge.

Judge Mohr is so much like the song written by Randy Newman "Short People." Gosh this is such a perfect song clearly identifying who so much of what Mohr is like. Read the lyrics. Ha! Perfect.

Had a case with Mohr against a husband and wife who were attys. The lady was a complete idiot and brought down her entire law firm which disbanded. We did not know this at the time we hired the husband but ended up with the POS wife. They cheated big time with billing and there is a lot more to the story but of course haven't the time to fill up this site. Mohr it appeared was helping this husband and wife team thru the entire trial and was never going to see that they got a judgment against them which the shit heads deserved. The judges help their own kind it seems. Hard to sue an atty. in the L.A Superior Ct. system of lies and crude, rude and disgusting attitudes.

He’s probably the same one calling everyone he disagrees with an “idiot.” This person needs to get a grip. People post here as a protest of an oppressive court system. These are actually very strong people. There are no “cry babies” here.

Seems like the last 3 comments should be deleted because they don’t have anything to do with anything. One was admittedly “parody” and the rest comment on the parody. Please delete.

I wrote that comment (3/25/21) as parody because I got a bad ruling on a matter in an unrelated case/court and feel like that’s what happened to me, and I posted after seeing some comments on here that got me riled up. But the parody didn’t come across well. Sarcasm never comes across well on the internet. I’m sorry to the last few commenters that took the post serious. It was a joke that apparently missed.

You guys are cry babies. When you get a judge like Mohr, you need to make it advantage you. If the other side wants something, you say no, and if the other side moves to compel, you just file a mountain of documents in opposition. A judge like Mohr will look at the mountain and say jee wiz I bet there's something with merit somewhere in there, and the other side loses. Or you can just cry on internet forums.

This judge actually seems like a nice enough guy, but he has totally checked out. He has a complete inability to dig in, and pressures settlement so that he doesn't have to do any heavy lifting. It's really a shame. I heard from an old-timer that he used to be active and competent.

Disgusting horrible judge. An embarrassment to the judicial system to have such a liar sitting on the bench. He cannot remember day to day what he even says and then gets annoyed when you remind him of his statements. It's all on transcripts. Just look Mr. Judge and see what you said if your minds fails you. I fear he has early stages of dementia. He is definitely below mediocre, not prepared, pragmatic nor practical. He is lazy and not interested in anything but getting out of the courtroom as quick as possible to do something else other than fairly judging cases. He decides cases as to who is favorite person is not "who is legally entitled." 170.6 100%.

Judge Mohr is a wonderful judge! He is a standout in the L.A. Superior Court. He is always pleasant, polite and well prepared. He is highly intelligent, fair and his rulings are pragmatic and practical. Consider yourself very lucky if your case is assigned to his courtroom. And, no, I am not one of his relatives, friends or staff members, but I've had at least half a dozen cases before him and I know what I'm talking about.

This judge is unfit. He seems to go from one court house to another to "try to fit in" but he screws everything. He cannot handle "squat" and he is a menace to justice. He made a big mess in central civic and he was transferred out. When you are just so bad at the job you were hired to do, just leave. Don't let the door hit you on the way out!

The minute I saw this judge for the first time I immediately hated him. I thought him stupid and nearly illiterate. He was a lousy lawyer and sought financial comfort in getting assigned to a judgeship. Total joke.

Short fool- pile of shit judge who is extremely lazy. Arrives to court late. Ended up at Stanley Mosk because he was excused from another court venue due to incompetence. He was basically thrown out of the complex litigation courthouse b/cause of so many complaints. Sleepy Mohr needs to take the hint and get the heck out of dodge. Stay home and sleep and write books as he professes wanting to do. I cannot imagine this fool writing any sort of enjoyable novel. The guy is a plain dumb dud.

Judge Mohr is highly intelligent, well prepared and congenial. It is a pleasure to appear in his court. He asks appropriate questions, listens to the answers and will follow up as necessary. He has a great deal of experience as a judge and it shows. He's one of the best in the downtown L.A. Superior courthouse.

Sleazy judge who happened to be a sleazy lawyer not so long ago. He definitely has personal problems and it shows in his courtroom habits. 170.6 and don't look back. You won't be sorry. Poor Stanley Mosk. There are slim pickings in this courthouse.

In representing civil plaintiffs, I've seldom been assigned such an understanding and compassionate judge. I've had many judges who have a tendency to favor corporate entities. I think they do this unconsciously. Not Judge Mohr. He allowed us the time and resource for full presentation. A degree of credit is due to Judge Mohr in helping the jury understand the case and to deliver an award for full damages.

You realize why people leave Calif. when you run across a Judge like Mohr. Don't even know how he got this position because it's clear he runs a messy disorganized court. Such a mean and very unlikable sort. Very disturbed and mentally troubled individual. Should not
be a Judge for the sake of mankind. Admits he doesn't know a lot about general law. This is your judge for crying out loud!!A judge that should be going back to law school to LEARN.

This judge is a disorganized moron. One court clerk told me when he was removed from complex litigation that all 400 cases in his court were messed up. In another case he gave 90 trial days when the same case took three days to trial in Georgia. He has disjointed hearings months apart so he forgets everything he learned in the last hearing and complex cases such as class certification. He has a mean streak in his vindictive little mind. This is true even though you never did anything to him. He definitely plays favorites and he is an absolutely terrible judge which is probably why he was removed from complex litigation. He shouldn’t handle anything more than traffic tickets and even then his temperament would harm someone.

I tried a non-jury, limited jurisdiction case before him with issues of first impression. He fit our case into his schedule over several days, a few hours a day, which, while not convenient, got the job done. Because of the relatively small amount involved, there was no court reporter. He was very attentive, took copious notes on the computer, and often asked probing questions of both sides while not taking over the case. He quickly grasped the relatively complex issues (notwithstanding the small amount), asked for briefing on the legal points that were significant and as to which there was no clear answer, and came to a fair result. While he did rush the case a bit, that was understandable because the case was a limited jurisdiction case that he was fitting in while another, larger case was being prepared to call in a jury panel. Overall, he seemed very fair, and I and my client were pleased to have had the case assigned to him.

Has the best grasp of the authorities of any judge I have encountered.

If he reads a case you cite, he will know it better than you.

Not the best in terms of managing his entire docket, due to the fact that he takes a long time with each case... However, you couldn't ask for a more fair jurist.

Wades into the facts/merits of the case at the first status conference. Be prepared to discuss and provide documents to him. Will not allow you to file anything before that status conference, including a petition to compel arbitration. Has taken the position openly that arbitrators are not qualified to decide class action issues, which is totally wrong legally. He will incorrectly attempt to retain that issue for himself. He is going to get reversed on that that point shortly.

Very thorough and consciencous. Makes a clear record as to what he's deciding and why. He does take things under submission (and no one ever likes to wait), but when he does render a decision, it's the right one.
