Civil Litigation - Govt.

Comment #: CA3228
Rating:1.0
Comments:
Worst temperaments ignors counsel and talks over them, seems to be in another world, and I feel that he is being paid by some insurance Companies to rule in their favor. He ignors motions files which cost counsel a great deal of money, and their clients. He's clerks cover for him and even hold court for him at times. i have watched as Cindy has given legal advice on telephonic hearings. ThePluim refuses to do Telephonic hearings no matter if you are sick or on your death bed. He is a discrase to the word Judge.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA3180
Rating:3.8
Comments:
One of the worst temperaments I have ever encountered on the bench. He seems annoyed at anything and everything - even those items necessary to the matter pending before him. Utterly inflexible - refused to provide a stipulated Trial continuance when lead counsel had to have an emergency surgery. His clerk, however, is a delight and helps to make up for some of his bad behavior.

Rating:9.0
Comments:
Judge Pluim has a very good strategy and methodology to draw out the facts in a case. He focuses on the items that are key to the merits of the case. Contrary to Comment #: CA19 I believe that Judge Pluim strives to thoroughly understand the facts of a case. While I am not qualified to determine whether or not he is prone to a "misreading" of the case law, I can say that in my case he was very astute and made a proper determination.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA19
Rating:5.5
Comments:
Seems baffled by anything but the simplest concepts. Although he has detailed tentatives, they are often based on erroneous misunderstandings of the facts and a misreading of the case law. Results almost seem random. Very rigid on calendar scheduling.
