Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA1074
Rating:1.5
Comments:
His exclamation of "I don't care" from the bench sums up this judicial officer. It was hard to believe (and my opposing counsel agreed) that while considering a pivotal issue that would help determine a multi-million dollar claim, his impatience led to sloppy and careless decision-making making.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA447
Rating:5.2
Comments:
Likes to yell at counsel when he is trying to hear arguments. It's kind of hard to get him to focus when he decides to start yelling. It's hard to get him to stop repeating errors of fact when he's in yelling mode too. He's kind of smug. He's not a bad judge but he's a terrible listener and just processes writs, TROs and PIs all day long. Maybe you'll get his attention; maybe you won't. Try to cut down on poor brief writing, bad case cites, and long shot legal arguments - you'll only annoy him and he'll start yelling again.

Comments:
Smart - but often grumpy. Knows the law. Overworked and has no patience for those who want to tell a story. He thinks he has heard it all before. That is his weakness. If he listened more, and spend a little more time, he might administer justice rather than race through a busy docket.
