Comments:
Ex-LAPD police officer and DA. Goes out of his way to rule in favor of the DA. Is very mean-spirited and holds a grudge.

Criminal Defense Lawyer

Comment #: CA1567
Rating:3.3
Comments:
Biased, unscholarly, and lazy. More interested in courthouse gossip than the case at bar - unless the case at bar presents facts which afford him an opportunity to attempt humor to a captive audience of attorneys, clerks, and court reporters. Judge Hawkins often comes across as bored and angry. He amuses himself by compiling files on all of the cases and attorneys who appear before him. These files include drawings and anecdotes about the attorneys and defendants. I would prefer he read the briefs instead.

Irascible, uneven, defaults in direction of government
