Comments #s: CA12591 and #: CA6676 are correct. This judge argued the plaintiff's case for him even though the lawyer was the judge's friend and considered competent, was very unpleasant to the defendant and went off the record often. He disallowed the jury to see the evidence for the defendant. Before taking the bench, as a lawyer, he had been sued five times or more for legal malpractice and had filed liens on former clients' cases. He is friends with a few attorneys and favors them. Judge also did not care that plaintiff's attorney perjured himself to the court.

Run from this judge. Decides the outcome of the case before the evidence is in. Then finds a way to contort his rulings to fit his pre-judgment. Grossly unfair. Poor understanding of the law.

One of the best judges on the Sacamento bench. I have done several criminal trials in front of him and just love him.

So pro-plaintiff a defendant may as well concede before opening statements. Evidentiary ruling heavily favor the plaintiff. Allowed all kinds of improper evidence, including plaintiff counsel actually testifying, and said he could "sort it out later." Should not be on the bench.

Far and away the best judge I have ever appeared in front of. Pleasant, even tempered, knowledgeable and great sense of humor are just some of the qualities of this outstanding judge. Fair to both sides, wiling to listen to arguments and every trial has been a joy. How I wish every judge was like Judge Abbott.

Another judge I love. This man is former Navy, but not indoctrinated. An open minded judge, so prepare for hearings in chambers before you go into court. Department 60 runs about one hour late, due to his interest in all cases. He listens to the DAs so be
prepared with briefs, etc.
