She is totally abusive and should be removed for the public good. Her "ruling" was overturned by the Appellate Division after I filed a "Petition for Writ" and she was removed from the case by both me and the Appellate Division. She gave no legal basis for her biased ruling, and when I managed to get a word in to ask the basis of her ruling she snarled, "...the laws of Department 501". She does not make the laws, the legislature does, and she is totally improper and biased. In a case I witnessed, in which a court translator had not shown up for a litigant who was losing his business lease, she said that, regardless of the interpreter or not, her ruling stays the same, so the case is decided regardless of the failure of the court to provide an interpreter, which was so improper I was sick to see that done to the elderly man who just lost his bakery. There is no way the positive reviews on this site are real, in my opinion, after seeing her in action.

Talks over you. Is determined to rule however she intends to without allowing you or affording you to exercise your rights. She forced a court trial when there was a clear request for a jury trial and refused to hear that one had been requested and entered into the online ROA, twice. Had the ruling not been favorable, an appeal was going to have to be rendered. This judge can rule many different ways and often many of her rulings have been & can be reversed upon appeal.

she inspired a 60 year old computer programmer, who never was a juror, to be proud of and interested in the our judicial system to the point that I would be enthusiastic about doing it again

I was a pro-per litigant in this woman's courtroom. I was impressed with her professionalism and honesty. Good heart. Wish more judges like her were on the bench.

Having appeared in front of Judge Campos on a number of occasions, I can honestly say she is one of the brightest and hardest working judges I have encountered. Her background (BA from Stanford, Harvard Law School, former assistant to Janet Reno during the 90s) definitely prepared her for the job. Let's just say you won't slip a quick one by her like some other judges.

She really seems to care about "getting it right," and she appears to adhere to concepts emanating from a legal realism ideology. She sometimes seems to ignore relevant authorities supporting positions she believes would not produce a just result. While that can sometimes be necessary, it also can create some uncertainty when you are appearing in her courtroom.

I have never been in front of a judge who was so biased against a criminal defendant as Judge Campos. She does everything possible to help the prosecution even if it means not following the law.

I found Judge Campos to be incredibly evenhanded, fairminded and unbiased. She read all of the pleadings and was incredible prepared.
Best Judge in San Diego.
