Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA4075
Rating:3.0
Comments:
The worst judge in S.F. Superior. Condescending, rude and did not understand the law on a very simple issue. He seemed annoyed that we chose to hold oral argument based on his two-sentence tentative ruling.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA1629
Rating:6.8
Comments:
Very technical judge. He does not want color, embellishment, or rhetoric. Tell him the law, tell him the facts, apply the facts. He'll either agree with you or he won't but he'll be prepared and very methodical.

Criminal Defense Lawyer

Comment #: CA1288
Rating:5.6
Comments:
Bright guy who is now bored with his job.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA1246
Rating:5.8
Comments:
SF Law and Motion Judge who can be a bully to younger lawyers, rude and arrogant at times. His wife is a City Attorney and he refuses to disqualify himself when CCSF is a party- and generally rules in their favor.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA1134
Rating:9.7
Comments:
Judge Busch is the better of the two law and motion judges in SF. He reads all of the cases cited and is not biased. He is very formalistic when attorneys appear before him in court, but that is not a bad thing. In fact, it might make the practice of law better if more judges did it.

Criminal Defense Lawyer

Comment #: CA603
Rating:1.4
Comments:
He stretches to limits that are unimaginable to keep defendants in cases, even where clear summary judgment motions have been filed.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA359
Rating:Not Rated
Comments:
Defending a frivolous case, and he saw right through it and dismissed the complaint. Was by the book but savvy judge. Practical and considers the realities of litigation.
