Refuses to adhere to the rule of law. Issued a DV restraining order yet failed to change custody as required (cfl 3044) sets deadlines and then allows the preferred party unlimited time to comply. Dropped an exparte matter without dropping the temporary order attached. Violates protected rights without a care. Lets personal opinion guide his decisions. DANGEROUS AND ABUSIVE TO LITIGANTS

-Judge Schuett's have acted outside his Scope Of Employment contributing to 'Fatherless Children' by his Failure To Comply, and Failure To Adhere To laws and Court Rules, including Stare Decisis related to case(s) dealing with allegations of child abuse.
-Judge Schuett was (or still is) an Lawless, Incompetent and Bias towards Minor's Counsel(s), by Appointing as Minor's Counsel Jim R. Canaday, Esq. while BOTH in Willful Violation of Family Code 3150(a) and California Rules of Court 5.242(h(1) between 03/17/2014 and 12/31/2016.
-Judge Schuett have Signed and Entered Orders contrary to (i) Parties' Stipulated Agreements -Not Signed by Parties, (ii) Request For Order w/Unsigned Declaration by Parties, etc.
-Hard Evidence or Proof showing Incompetence, Bias, Discrimination against Self-representatives and/or Corruption is/are on file with the F.L. Court.

This judge has absolutely no scruples. He should be thrown off the bench. A perfect example a cronyism. I hope Kern County can get a judge with some brains-

I have appeared before him hundreds of time and I always found him to be very smart and professional. I don't understand all these negative comments about him, although I understand that two people can look at a same situation and have two different views of what they see. Many of the family law lawyers were very disappointed that they took him out of the family law court assignment. So, I know that I am not the only one who feels this way about Judge Schuett.

As others have commented, "Judge" Schuett is a thug in a robe. He needs to be investigated for his abuse of power on a continual and daily basis. Prayers he gets the help he needs to be able to become a positive contributing member of the community after he is taken off the bench.

It's clear that this judge needs to be removed from the bench as soon as possible. He is a sociopath and a psychopath. Only the good ole boys club of Bakersfield allow him to continue. [Redacted.] Why are the residents of Kern County paying for this malevolent incompetent judge?

He lets emotion rule, he is civil defense oriented to the extreme. He may not follow the actual law if it is not to his liking. There should be a rating to go negative 1 when this person is on the bench. He has no personality and you should never stay. in his court for the good of your client. This is not about the attorney not liking the judge but really the judge not liking people he is paid to render judgment for. You would think that on occasion he could rule correctly but you would be wrong. The one good rating he got must be from his mother.

Somehow appeals to the Appellate Division wind up before this incompetent. Defendants in a UD matter timely responded to the Complaint and filed their Answer before it was due. The Clerk rejected it because she'd erroneously defaulted the Defendants before the Answer was due. Any clerk or judge, indeed anyone beyond grade school, should be able to count days on a calendar. A clerks judgment was taken and a family with four small children was placed onto the street because of this man. Sure, everyone thinks a judge is incompetent or biased if the decision does not go their way. But when a Superior Court judge cannot count the days to answer a complaint on a calendar there is something seriously wrong.

This thug in a robe allowed the court to delete parts of the court record, allow a defendant to respond to a stricken third amended complaint with another defendant at the same exact moment, moving to dismiss the complaint for failure to make an fourth amended complaint! Don't tell me that this judge is honorable. He's a crook that needs to be thrown off the bench!

A thug with a black robe. Absolutely lacks the temperament to be an effective judge, and has repeatedly demonstrated poor control of his court via an endless series of continuations. It is tough for most people to have to go to court, and to be subjected to an abusive and caustic judge is just too much. I am not sure what you are so angry about or where your life went wrong, but don't take it out on the people you are supposed to serve.

How is it possible that he is a family court judge? He has no children!
Total devastation in my case.
Husband got away with everything after 3.5 years and $40,000. Spent to have a fair judgment
Life goes on!

Hands down one of the best Judges you will ever run into; I have handles multiple family law matters in front of him and whether he rules against or for me, he has been correct in his ruling. Very good judicial temper, extremely smart and very courteous and professional. I wish we had multiple judges like him.
