What others have said about Hon. Robert S. Draper

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA31820
Draper works hard, has a calm demeanor, and appeared to be a good judge.

But I have observed him lying to justify his decisions. And not tiny lies; giant ones. Trying a case before him has caused me to believe the legal process, in Los Angeles at least, is a sham.

I no longer consider LASC judgments legitimate.

Judge Draper is one of the best judges in Stanley Mosk. He is hardworking, smart, and has a great temperament. He understands the law, and his rulings (which have not always been in my client's favor) are fair. Whether you represent plaintiffs or defendants, you will get a fair hearing in his courtroom.

Judge Draper is pretty close to best case scenario as a civil judge at Mosk. He comes to Court prepared, moves cases forward, has an even-keel, and treats litigants and counsel fairly. He is very well-educated, experienced, and understands the issues before him. He reads the papers, knows the issues, actually considers oral argument, and I have seen him reverse tentatives when counsel is persuasive. He also has a sense of humor. This is about as good as you will get.

This judge is an idiot. Couldn't see the plain truth if it jumped up and bit him. 170.6 every time. Another example of an incompetent jurist the system will move around from venue to venue until he retires.

Robert Draper has zero grasp on reality and has ordered many children in to custody of the accuser who are actually the guilty abusers. This judge took lies with no explanation and did not let us argue the case. That is abuse of power and he needs to get off that stand he is a terrible judge and many children suffer by his terrible decisions
