There is other judge I would prefer sitting in front of for a 1170(d)(1) hearing. The Honorable Henry J. Hall made a ruling on March 18, 2020 that was not only favorable to myself, the community at large, but the criminal justice system as well. His fairness, attitude, and insight has proved to be priceless.

Comments:
Even though very pro-prosecution, this judge is probably the most biased in the Southern California system. What happened to this man. He used to be a decent jurist.

Madness in this courtroom! If Dateline ever does a story on renegade judges this would be it. In the courtroom of Judge Hall the only people who should really bother showing up are the prosecutor. This judge is one of the most biased I have ever run across.

Beware when entering this courtroom. You might as well be entering a third world court. Opinions from the bench are draconian, temperament is uneven, biased and driven by seemingly outside influences. This Judge panders to the public hoping he will be elected again to continue the lunacy that he purposefully masters each day. Paper him if you get the chance. If you don't, you'll be sorry you didn't.

Leaving a day in this courtoom is like entering heaven from hell. Judge is pro-prosecution but if one has a conscience it just doesn't feel right. This Judge brings out the WORST of everything the system represents. When you are out of his courtroom you just feel liberated.

If and when I leave the office and go into private practice, I will loath the day when entering this Judge's courtroom. All the reviews to date are accurate. He is an example of why judicial reform is needed. Moreover, this is a judge who should be closely supervised. Incompetent and arrogant are just two words that define this judicial officer.

Comments:
Where do I begin. This Judge has the nastiest disposition I have ever encountered. His condescension may as well take on the form of a physical body, being that it is so readily apparent. Despite his public defender background, he acts as second chair to the prosecutor that staffs his courtroom. As a matter of fact, I'm not even sure why the prosecutor comes into that court. I will vote for whoever runs against him, should he ever be up for re election.

This judge is probably the biggest coward there could possibly be on the bench. Afraid of his own shadow and how he will be perceived. My guess he is probably concerned about election in the future. I could not get out of his courtroom fast enough this morning. Never left a rating before. When I have an opportunity to paper this judge and campaign for ANYONE who runs against him in the future, I will exercise my right to do that. What a dismal failure as a judge.

Judge Hall is for the prosecutors. All the way. 170.6 Civ. Code was made for judges like this.
