Criminal Defense Lawyer

Comment #: CA48951
Rating:2.7
Comments:
Not very versed on the law, and ignores it entirely on issues not likely appealable.

His temperament is variable, and he will explode on anything he perceives as disrespect.

The key to success is to flatter his ego and goad your opponent into angering him. How he feels about you will affect his ruling.

Starts on time, has tentatives or a good inclination of what he wants to do. Reads the stuff and his rulings are sound. Good attitude. See him as very even-handed, and I do both defense and Pl work.

Fair but tough. You do need to brief him extensively if you want him to rule favorably on an issue he is not familiar with. I disagree with the other two posters here. He’s a fair judge and good man. Nor was he biased. No one is perfect. I was in a lengthy trial with him and suspect the other two posters didn’t like how he ruled on a particular motion.

Rating:3.8
Comments:
This judge is biased against plaintiffs and he is dishonest. He listened very politely to arguments, acts sympathetic, and then ignores everything that was said, regardless of the merits. Not to be trusted.

Comments:
Horrible Judge who is just afraid to rule on anything in fear of getting reversed. He needs to learn the law and grow some balls. He needs a clerk or something because it seems like he never reads anything nor he has any knowledge of statues or the law. He needs to be spoonfed

He is a very biased in his decision making . He does exParte communications which is unethical with the party that has a lawyer versus me as in pro per . Noted not professional w women ... inappropriate jokes with his women clerk and communicates privately with this lady Atty Vasquez ( my opponent ) like asking her favors to research for him regarding the notice of Interlocutory appeal I’ve filed against him . I’m a woman and he even offered and inviting me to see him and talk to him and said that he can spend 15 minutes of his time . ( I don’t know if he is just being nice but I took it differently . I’m afraid that if I don’t comply with his offer that he will jeopardize my case . He has denied all my 3 motions and dismiss my fictitious names does 1-10 already granted by another judge when I did my 4th amended complaint . In accordance to CCP 484 . He only reads and listens to my opponent’s opposition because they are lawyers .
