Criminal Defense Lawyer

I was really surprised to see all the bad reviews about Marmaro on this website.

I had a simple trial with him. He was totally fair.

I wish I had more advise... Just deal with Marmaro like you would plead a case to a CEO of a company. Don't BS him. He will see right through it. If you get Marmaro as a judge, consider yourself lucky. Good luck.

I would avoid Judge Marmaro at all cost. I can't understand how someone with his background could be such a poor judge. He does what he feels is right, not what the law dictates.

Best civil judge in L.A. County. Likely candidate for federal judgeship.

a nightmare that can happen to any individual - he is g going miles out of fairness to get a corporate to win - he is horrible in analysis of the case, and so harsh in issuing his bias rulings! he twists the facts and writes novelty to protect himself for his terrible ruling - he kills the case at pretrial, on motions, with his awful rulings built upon his baseless reasoning - so public will not be able to see how awful he is.

This judge is completely biased in favor of corporate defendants in employment litigation. He bends over backwards to accommodate defendants but not plaintiffs.

Marmaro is an absolute nightmare.

The running theme is - how can a guy who was obviously very successful as a business litigation attorney be so horrible as a judge?

He CONSTANTLY ignores the law or distorts/ignores facts to reach his "conclusions." There is no arguing your case with him - he's always right, of course.

He's a joke and I refuse to call him by the honorific "Judge," as he evidences no ability to do so in a reasonable and fair manner. I haven't heard one attorney say anything positive about him.

If you value your case, 170.6 him.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA5583
It's strange that someone who was obviously a skilled attorney in private practice would turn out to be such a terrible judge. He invents "rules" out of thin air and applies them stubbornly, even in the face of actual contrary binding authority. He doesn't listen - he's so sure he's always right, there's no need to.

Countless rulings in my case contrary to California family law. Made up his own laws in family court rulings. Cost me hundreds of thousands in legal fees in a simple family matter he dragged on and on in his first trial as a judge.
