Comments:
I sorely miss Judge Winikot in Pasadena court. He was an excellent judge who didn't just give the prosecution everything they demanded. He actually insisted a defendant's constitutional rights be honored and did not blindly believe every officer who testified on the stand at a motion to suppress evidence. He was very fair when sentencing as well . Unfortunately since the DA felt this judge was not the rubber stamping, pro prosecution DA in a robe like they had hoped, the DAs office decided to paper judge Winikot, which lead to his transfer to civil court. Most Pasadena lawyers miss him greatly.
