Nicest guy ever. He’s approachable and friendly. Lots of civil litigation experience and it shows. Is able to “read between the lines” and see who the good guys are. Reads everything and tries to get it right. Runs an efficient but relaxed courtroom. A true gentleman and a solid trial judge. We need more like him.

Judge Howard appeared half asleep at an important substantive hearing, did not know the record, did a lot of shooting from the hip with a lot of "misses," did not follow rules of procedure and pretty much ignored the law. A real disservice to the community. Frustrating.

He reads the law and motion paperwork himself and writes his own tentatives, that is clear and refreshing. Well reasoned opinions, no apparent proclivities. Pleasant and friendly demeanor. Very accommodative to counsel if they agree that continuances or other special relief is needed.

The judge is prejudice and unfair. He already has his mind made up about a case before your hearing. I saw that man take down an entire school illegally. Someone gave him the power to destroy lives and the future of innocent children. In this matter no laws were broken. He invited all these parents and students into his court room, only to deny them an injunction. The kids wanted to play ball. This is the only time in their lives where they are kids and they can learn from adults , why not them play ball? The judge lacked compassion for them. Just imagine him being a judge in a real criminal matter. You will get the death penalty. Scary

I have read cases in which he has been reversed -heard he has been reversed quite a bit but I do not know for sure - I had 3 cases where he was way way way off-nice appearance and smile but in my opinion not very smart guy and possible passive aggressive type-if he does not like you I do not think he will tell you. Cannot believe he has such high ratings below-read reversals on his cases.

Judge Howard is one of the most industrious and meticulous judges I have appeared before in my 35-plus year career. He issued a detailed, eight page tentative ruling on a motion for summary judgment based on primary assumption of risk. He even considered points that neither counsel mentioned in the moving or opposition papers. He also has excellent judicial temperament.

Represented a defendant in a personal injury case that arose from a construction defect. Jury verdict for plaintiff. Judge was fair and did not favor either plaintiff or defendant. Would try any case before Judge Howard.
