Comments:
Peter Wilson is the biggest bargain in the system. He was a Latham partner and took about a $2 million pay cut to join the bench out of sheer altruism. His intellectual ability is profound and he works like a dog to get your case right. Knows the cases in his inventory better than the lawyers. Anticipates every issue. He litigated all kinds of complex cases as a lawyer and it really shows. I had a major, multi-party case before him and he was truly impressive. All of the lawyers on each side talked amongst ourselves about what a terrific judge Wilson is, win, lose or draw. And he’s even a nice person! The only problem is when you have to appear in other courts it feels like your coach has turned into a pumpkin.

One of the two or three best judges in the zOV Superior Court. On a par with the very best federal judges, but more approachable and easygoing. You just can’t find a better judge than Peter Wilson. Huge luck to draw him.

Judge Wilson is a class act all the way, on and off the bench. Those who criticize his most recent ruling in the jail case need to ask themselves what they really expect from judges. Do they want judges to follow the facts and the law? The mob want what it wants, regardless of facts and law. I can guarantee you no judicial officer, and particularly Judge Wilson, likes the resultS of that ruling. If you don't like the law, elect politicians to write it the way you want it. Don't blame the courts for following it.

Peter Wilson has every quality we want in a judge. He’s brilliant, fair, even-handed, lawyer-friendly, practical and industrious. He tries to do the right thing and has good instincts about what’s going on behind the curtain. Appearing before him is a pleasure. Top drawer in every way. I hope he remains on the bench for many years to come.

Horrible! Ordering inmates released due to COVID! They are in jail because they broke the law, no one promised them a rose garden! You do the crime, you do the time! Does the Judge want the crimes that these released inmates commit after they have been released on his shoulders?

This judge appears to not care about the community but seems to care more about criminals. He would rather risk citizens lives than keep criminals where they belong because of a virus. A virus that has a 99.98% survival rate. His ruling on this particular case was completely unacceptable and wrong.

Comments:
This Judge protects criminals vs. citizens, this judge is responsible for letting criminals out in the streets as he's afraid they may catch COVID - goes to prove where his priorities are. He needs to be disbarred now.

Motion to disbar Peter Wilson for intentionally creating mayhem and a public threat to society, particularly children.

The decision to release violent felons and sex offenders is unconscionable. The decision without any solution offered that serves the public does not serve justice or integrity. Disbar!

How in the world can you, as a Judge, release Felons into our County??? Because they "might" get a virus?? Did you order this during a flu outbreak? Of course not. Disgraceful.

The judicial system needs more Peter Wilsons! Seriously, I wish other judges would sit in his courtroom and observe his demeanor, thoughtful approach, lack of arrogance, preparedness, even handedness and scholarship. I'm a 40-year-plus litigator and he's in my top 2%.

You can't draw a better judge than Peter Wilson. He's brilliant, works hard and dives deeply into each case. He has a great ability to get to the heart of an issue very quickly. Judge Wilson is reserved in a British sort of way, but not cold or unfriendly. I've tried over 100 jury trials and know a keeper when I see one!

I wish we could clone him. Fair, even-handed, works very hard, invests time in really learning the cases before him, does his own research, and is friendly to all. I was before Judge @Wilson on a high stakes business dispute and could hardly believe how quickly he got up to speed and how thoroughly he absorbed the facts. A total gem. As a woman I also appreciate how non-sexist he is.

Very arrogant and rude particularly towards women. Very biased without cause. Picks a side and will stick with that regardless of the law. Horrible temperament. Stated one thing at a hearing and then when that ruling was cited to him later, he flat denied it.

Comments:
Wilson is very arrogant and appears to know the law, but almost just lacks common sense and lacks the ability to discern improper evidence before the court. He will take a counsel's side and stick with it so don't expect fairness. He is up on appeal a lot and I've seen him hand really blind and terrible rulings to a lot of colleague's cases.

Peter Wilson and his wife who I believe is also a judge in OC Superior are politically connected. They hob knob with certain attorneys regularly and parties and there is a favortism in his court for those counsel.

Judge Wilson was a pleasure to try a case before. He was involved in the case (bench trial), and during closing arguments asked numerous questions (similar to appellate practice). He made thoughtful rulings on objections (he did not just sustain or overrule). Know your facts and law when you try a case in front of him and you will enjoy the experience.

Judge Wilson is one of the two or three best judges in superior court. I had a complex matter before him that took considerable time to learn, and he knew it as well as the attorneys. Brilliant, fair, scholarly, even-tempered and lawyer-friendly. He understands that sometime we have trouble with client management and tries to make things better, not worse. I've been a lawyer almost 40 years and I'm hard to impress, but I wish we could clone him.

Peter Wilson is totally wery unfair and he judged on his personal like of women. ( We can call him a women favor judge). I am a disable US Vet and I were totally judge unfair even I have all the devidences document. Even I were very weak due to my medical condition ( I must not appear and due to my medical condition) but that is not the case. How Peter Wilson become judge????? If I feel well, I will go on strike against Peter Wilson to let the public know about him. DOWN WITH PETER WILSON.

Awesome! No judgement yet so not biased. Judge Wilson let both parties get all their points out. He added questions-gave both sides opportunity to counter the other. Demeanor/attitude outstanding. Don't see how a Judge can be better.

My only comment is that I am a novice trial lawyer and this Judge was obviously annoyed at my lack of experience and expertise. Obviously knowledgeable but if you are inexperienced at litigation beware!

Very fair, scholarly and even-tempered jurist. Originally from South Africa and worked in civil rights. He carefully considered all arguments and wasn't afraid to pull out the Rutter guide to research an issue in open court. He ruled partially against and partially in favor of my client. I could not have felt bad regardless of how he ruled; all I know is that he carefully considered and each issue and calmly gave each attorney ample opportunity to argue. If you have a good case and are a good lawyer legal, I think you will have drawn a great judge if you get Peter J. Wilson.
