Criminal Defense Lawyer

Comment #: CA8679
Makes up the facts to fit the law he wants to support his pre-conceived conclusions. Very biased.

Criminal Defense Lawyer

Comment #: CA8346
Judge Brown does not read the papers, his clerks do. He makes up the law to fit his pre-conceived opinion.

Comment #: CA5848
Excellent Court demeanor. Fair gives the parties their day in Court.

Comment #: CA5310
Judge Brown is probably one of the hardest working judges around. He is very smart and currently one of two law and motion judges in Sacramento. I am surprised to see lower ratings for him--I suspect that they are because many local defense attorneys are used to getting their way regardless of whether or not the law is on their side. I hold him in the absolute highest regard. He's ruled for me and against me, and on those latter occasions, it was still the correct holding. Be ready at oral argument, he sometimes knows the cases better than the attorneys that show up to argue them.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA4418
This judge refused to hear arguments, did not have the facts correct (it was clear that the papers had not been read), and then accused me of not providing him notice of an event the court itself had scheduled.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA4393
Judge Brown is an amazing judge. He's what every attorney wants: someone who listens, thinks, works hard, and comes to very well-reasoned and insightful opinions.
