I had heard Judge Harris is a pleasure to litigate a case in front of... that her reputation is "she knows the law, she lets both sides try their case -- she is not for or against, she is a true judge." This week I had my first hearings in her courtroom -- and everything I heard, was true. But in addition to her fairness, and knowledge, I was thrilled that she stood firm with a young prosecutor that his offer was inappropriately harsh for the case. She quietly, and without any demeaning or lording over, fought for what was just for MY client. She left the DA with no place to go but "on board" -- I was truly impressed. No one felt like they won or lost when the case was over, but my client had a dozen reasons he felt good about the outcome. It was not lost on him that the judge fought for him, and I think that had a huge, positive impact.

This judge makes her own rules. She crosses the line with regard to her use of judicial discretion. It was a horrible experience to be in front of this woman and to endure her condescending attitude, her lack of willingness to look at evidence, and her ability to ignore the facts.
