Distorted view on the world . I belive this I due to the family . They go back to the Salem witch trial and Burdick is a defendant of the witches put to death in 1692, the family was prominent until the wealth and status was .... burns, drowned , and my personal favorite rock and roll ??

Paul Burdick is a complete emotional basket case and train wreck. He should have had a psychological evaluation before they ever let him be a judge. Watch out

Judge Burdick started out a fine judge. As time wore on he became bitter and curt. I am so sorry that his personal life is sad and cynical that he wants to take it out on everyone else. The body keeps the score so he will suffer in the end just like all the other mentally ill judges that have come out of Santa Cruz. Burdick likes to make phone calls and gather his own evidence in your case, announce his findings from the bench and rule based on this “evidence” before you have a chance to react. Be on your toes. This judicial conduct is reprehensible and unethical. He has no judicial temperament and is vindictive. He couldn’t make it as a personal injury attorney and is jealous of anyone else who can. A poor sick little man with a poor sick little demeanor. Watch out. Maybe he’ll retire and try to double-dip as a JAMS judge but no one will use him because he is a sick, mentally ill worthless excuse for a human being. Go play some tennis and find another wife. He must be rotten in bed too.

After opening comments that made him sound ready to take action to rule against the illegal actions of the county and a developer, he reversed himself and made nonsensical excuses for doing so. PLEASE go watch this and other judges up for re-election in 2020 before voting, and ONLY vote for judges you KNOW are (still) honest and fair looking! We need a much closer public eye on what is happening in our courts to understand ALL the reasons that regular residents are getting priced out of living in SCC.

Judge BurDICK makes decisions without even glancing at the Motion filed. Hundreds of hours of work for nothing because he won't even read the affadvit or the supporting docs ... he just decides (incorrectly) that because some previous paperwork was filed in the wrong order that the whole case must be dismissed without granting an opportunity to correct his perceived error in filing. The case is decided based on his whims, not the letter of the law.

A pleasant man, but does not understand the law. Or, if he does, he has no inclination to follow it. He just does what he wants. Very hard to advise your clients as he will ignore black letter law.
