This judge denied my spouses request for a change of custody on a exparte hearing and then his attorney made the same request 5 days later and granted him sole custody when I had called the court and notified them I wouldn’t be attending because I had a family death. Moreover, I had never missed a hearing in 11 years. My ex didn’t bother to show up, there was no police report, and no CPS report demonstrating any abuse. Now, my daughter is failing high school, has not seen or spoken to my entire family in 4+ years. At 17, her father is trying to render our healthy daughter disabled to collect SSI. I was informed that my daughter can not access any phones, computers, drive, or spend time with friends outside of school. Who gives a parent with a history of documented DV via court finding sole legal custody? This judge destroyed our entire family. There are no words to describe the pain and anguish our family has been forced to endure and my child will remain a prisoner in her fathers care.

She fails to read the file.

She makes a decision then changes her mind at a subsequent hearing. She allows lawyers to abuse the ex parte process. She also gives custody to men when the court had previously made a finding of DV.
