Litigant

Rating:10.0
Comments:
Agree with another reviewer; her presence in the probate court is a huge improvement. She is much more present and quality than the previous, lazy probate judge that was cycled out to another posting.

Litigant

Comment #: CA34092
Rating:1.0
Comments:
Did not consider our pleading, Allowed inappropriately filed pleading from opposition, and seemed to show a clear bias in her decision. Our experienced attorney expected a hearing date and Judge Bean decided the case without allowing us to present.

Criminal Defense Lawyer

Comment #: CA12121
Rating:7.2
Comments:
Judge Bean was a welcome change in probate court after two or three complete duds out of the previous three or four judges. I don't remember having any problems with her, even when I didn't get everything I wanted. She was still fair.

Criminal Defense Lawyer

Comment #: CA10926
Rating:2.0
Comments:
Not particularly smart, but stubborn. Won't change her mind even if she is proven wrong.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA10925
Rating:1.7
Comments:
Pros: Courteous to Attorneys & Litigants
Cons: Poor Scholarship with completely arbitrary and thoughtless rulings. Poor grasp of basic litigation. Uniformly favors form over substance.

Litigant

Comment #: CA8477
Rating:1.0
Comments:
This judge was a joke. I was involved in a simple conservatorship hearing which dragged on for for six months. It was absurd. Judge Bean did not cooperate at all and completely dismissed my defense and skirted of all the necessary actions for a successful outcome for the conservatee. She placed her in harm's way. There was no rationale and compassion on her part for this person.

Fair to all the races and sexualities, even black men, which is rare

Rating:8.7
Comments:
She's handled criminal motions since, I think, she was elected. Pretty routine stuff. Very courteous to attorneys and clients. Favors the state, but what judge doesn't?
