this judge is the most unprepared judge i have ever seen. she did not study any fact,s or d any back ground check,s. she allowe incomplet paper work fom the plaintiff. she allowed contempt at least 10 diffeent contempt of court,s to go unresolved. she allowed unchecked stament,s to be admitted into the case.they were proven to be false, but still aloued. she did not enforce ruling,s evn after they were contuinily violuated. she striped away my right,s with out a trial or any factual evidonce to prove they needed to be taken away. this judge is very unaware of the law and does not admite when she has made huge erriors in a judical dcission even when it is proven to her in open court. she is a true danger to the legal system ad the peple of yuba co a any county she may choose to sit on the bench.i feel she should be termated and a judge and tried for judical misconduct.

I support this Judge 100%. In a county of 70,000 plus with a higher than average crime rate, we need tough Judges. She is known as a very fair judge that spends countless hours on her cases. She is very serious about her work which may come across as arrogant to some, but she is direct, efficient and tries hard not to waste the money paid into the court system by the tax paying citizens of Yuba County. She, as all the judges in the county, deal with rapist, child molesters, child abusers, thieves, murderers, crimes against our elderly citizens, and every other type of criminal, along with making what could be life altering decisions for the children of our county in custody cases with only the fact presented in the case . She knows the law well and uses it to protect all of us by sentencing criminals to the appropriate punishment. She was first appointed due to experience and knowledge, then re-elected by the citizens. Although, our Judges spend much of their time on citizen’s everyday issues like a financial dispute with a bank because a citizen stops paying their mortgage, or a citizen that burnt their foot on a 100 degree day walking around barefoot on county property then feels the county should pay them our tax dollars for their pain and stupidity, or citizens that higher attorneys over their dogs fighting, yet they did not spend money on a quality fence that would have prevented it, again a waste of our tax dollars. We need to all protect our quality judges that took this high stress job to protect us from horrendous crimes. Judge Scrogin works as hard as humanly possible toward creating justice for all.

She is snooty and seems to have a hard time concentrating unless it is very, very quiet. She is also obnoxious. I happened to be in the courthouse one day to drop off some paperwork when her bailiff came out and demanded that everyone outside Judge Scrogin's courtroom be quiet because it was annoying the judge. My thought was that this lady must have a very high opinion of herself since the noise in the hallway was not very loud. It is normal for people in the hallway to greet each other. None of the other judges were demanding that everyone outside the courtroom stay quiet....On another occasion, I was waiting in her courtroom for a matter to be called and I was able to see her in action. It seemed to me that her mind was made up when she took the bench. She did all the talking and did not allow one party to say more than a dozen words. Her facial gestures said it all. She obviously did not care for the party that she did not allow to speak and she was going to show him what she thought. When the party stated that he wanted to put something on the record, she threatened him and told him that she was not going to allow him to do it. Very rude. I have never seen the other judges do this.

She did not have her facts straight in my case before family court. She seems to want the case to look good on paper rather than take into account how the children feel.

I am a local attorney. I have regularly appeared before Judge Scrogin representing clients in family law matters. Even though there were times when she ruled against me, I am absolutely convinced that Judge Scrogin knows the law and follows it. She is fair and impartial.
In the posted comments people are accusing Judge Scrogin of not following the law or being "mean", because they are unhappy as she ruled against them. In most cases, a Judge will side with one of the parties making the other one unhappy. And the unhappy party blames the Judge for the outcome.
There are also comments that Judge Scrogin was "unwilling to hear what was being said". However, the Judge must follow the rules of evidence even if a litigant is not represented by an attorney. Many times pro per litigants are at disadvantage as they do not know the rules of evidence and believe that they can just introduce any evidence without following any rules, but the Judge cannot treat them more favorably that represented parties and must insist that the rules of evidence are followed. And those of you, who are unhappy with Judge Scrogin's decision, our legal system allows you to appeal. So appeal your cases and let the other judges decide whether she has made an error.
What is particularly sad is that a Judge, in most cases, cannot respond to the accusations and defend herself.

Doesn't know the law or how to apply it. Has ties to Sutter Co. corruption, the mafia daddy, or should we call him the Singh pin, as all money that drives Sutter Co. comes from the E. Indian population which helped put Scrogin where she is at. She was only chosen after A prominent, well experienced attorney was passed over and charged with trumped up charges due to her sugar daddy's influence. I see her family members have posted giving her praise. Ask her how many times it took for her to pass the bar?

She is horrible as she does not go by the law , but by her feelings. She does not excuse her self from a court proceeding due to her personal biest ,feelings and makes judgement on her biest oppinions and does not take in case evidence to the contrary Not even considering the abundance of lies that were presented and overlooked by her.
She is not about being a fair judge at all, or being a person worthy of being a judge. She needs to be fired.

There is nothing "honorable" about Scrogin. She wasted millions of dollars in tax payers' money to vindictively try a young Hispanic man for murder. Much to her dismay, after THREE full trials, he was found not guilty (by reason of D.A. Scrogin's inability to present a fair trial and the jury's ability to see through her racism, condescending attitude, and general incompetence). Just a "new girl" in the "good ole boy" system we should ashamedly call American Justice.

She was condescending, snotty and unwilling to hear what was being said. Her incompetence during my custody battle in 2007, placed my children back in harms way. Wanting to give an abuser his fair chance of 50/50 custody. After my ex assaulted my son AGAIN, supervised visits were then ordered by another judge.

In my opinion she is out of touch, seeking to be "fair", with dirt bags that dont deserve her mercy. She should be using discernment when seeking the truth in the matters before her court.

I have been in a very many court rooms during my 36 years of public service in Yuba County and have worked with numerous very good judges. Judge Scrogin is a very good judges! She is well prepared in her cases and takes great care in her rulings. She is fair to everyone that appears before her. She is compassionate but firm when it is needed. She runs her court as it should be run and she is very fair to both sides. She would deffinately get my vote but alas, I live in the wrong county

When I was unemployed, pregnant and had to serve jury duty I got a letter from her saying how she was sorry about my unemployment due to the economy and she wished my luck. I was floored a judge would take 1 jury candidate out of the MANY juries she must see and write me a personal letter WITH her own signature. I was impressed, I think this Ginger Hughes is just po'd and not thinking clearly because Judge Scrogin not only has a great "judicial temperament" to perform her job, bu compassion and caring for everyone who enters her courtroom.
