Absolutely worst Judge I have ever appeared before. Refuses to follow local rules, will not adhere to tentative ruling procedures, and runs the Court like her personal playground. Shows favoritism to certain attorneys and has an extremely angry and hostile temperament. Always seems irritated to be on the bench as if she is doing everyone a favor. Was planning to file challenge to remove her from my case, but it appears she's gone. Good riddance.

MacLaren either fails or refuses to get acquanted with all the facts of issues that come before her. She ignores evidence provided to her arbitrarily and does not have a grasp on the operations of law. Fails to enforce statutory obligations of parties and allows parties to get away with blatant lying. If you're a shady attorney, shes your judge.

She doesn't belong on the bench. Arbitrary and biased. Recommending no one use her.

this judge is the worst!!! She has no idea how the real estate law and market works. she ruled horribly on deal. She thinks that a letter with no consideration, no signatures from the seller and many other things missing that it was a legal contract. Worst decision by a judge in a real estate lawsuit I have ever seen or heard of. She ruled how she felt...not by what the actual law would allow.

biased and prejudiced. ignores the established laws and facts to rule in her own way.

Judge MacLaren when I called her on her conduct in front of the jury was big enough to recognize that she had made a mistake and in court apologized to the jury. This was impressive. I thought she did a good job and she was willing to listen and change her mind if convinced she was wrong.

Not qualified to be a judge. She is in over her head. Should search for another career.

Seems unable to understand reasons for positions.

Judge MacLaren is ill suited to complex civil matters. She forms her conclusions early based solely on her 'sense' of the law. This is likely very helpful in areas where she is familiar with the law and must deal with a large volume of nearly identical matters. I imagine she can blast through a misdemeanor or probation/parole calendar with absolute perfection. However, she carries this attitude into more complex civil matters with which she is completely unfamiliar. Once she has formed an opinion, it is near impossible to change her mind. The first party to speak will nearly always carry the day with her. It does not seem to matter if the argument is right or wrong. If it squares with what she thinks the law should be, she goes with it regardless of the practical implications.

The prior one star review (Comment #: CA1343) is a believable example of exactly what I am attempting to describe.

Very good in financial/banking matters.

Judge Maclaren is by far the worst judge that I've ever dealt with. She defended my ex for not showing up for his scheduled visitation and even gave him more visitation after he returned from being absent from the country for over 2 years. She refused to grant any sort of evaluation of the child. When she found out that my ex had, on occasion, refused to feed our son she said that as long as there was a 24 hour McDonalds near his house, then it was sufficient for the child. I was appalled and outraged at Maclaren's behavior, she must really hate women and children or both.

Not ready for the prime time yet. If you have a complex civil case you should look elsewhere.
