What others have said about Hon. Bruce Clayton Mills

Criminal Defense Lawyer

Comment #: CA3167
I did a criminal trial in his court. On first impression he seemed reasonable, almost evenhanded. WRONG! A one day jury trial because he wanted a one day trial. He thought Marcy's Law trumped Brady (WTF?). Ridiculed the defense in front of the jury, and shut down defendant testimony because "it would be unreliable because it's going to be self-serving"...IN FRONT OF THE JURY! UNBELIEVABLE!! Luckily, I had a smart jury who caught on. I was preparing appellate paperwork when they came back with an acquittal, a verdict he seemed unhappy with. He does NOT understand constitutional criminal procedure and needs to be removed from the bench.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA590
Refuses to grant sanctions. Treats litigants and attorneys unfairly to coerce settlements. No jury trials happen in his department.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA585
Refuses to grant sanctions, even when clearly appropriate.
