The reason she can't get to court on time didn't she come out of retirement for this case . She needs to put a stop to this crap it's been WAY to Long for this to be over with . She needs to stop helping the prosecutor and do her job let the prosecutor do he own job.

I've never experienced a judge who placed so little value on punctuality. She is late every day without exception. She seems terribly bored with her job. Stares at her computer all day, especially during testimony. Seems quite uninterested in the courtroom. Does not control witnesses and allows them to spew profanity and disrespect. In allowing a witness to treat her courtroom like a joke, she loses the respect of the people she is supposed to serve.

I brought a case before Judge Zuniga. The entire case was predicated upon a 9-0 Supreme Court opinion that was directly on-point. Judge Zuniga never even mentioned that case. When I pointed this out to her in my Objection to her Statement of Decision, she again never mentioned the Supreme Court case.

The negative comments strike me as sour grapes. I have appeared in front of Judge Zuniga on civil matters for 10+ years and am well familiar with her methods. If you are informal or don't follow the rules of court to the letter, she will let you hear about it. Yes, she can be snippy, but the snippiness is visited upon poorly prepared attorneys who try to B.S. through oral arguments after Judge Zuniga has spent five hours memorizing moving and opposing papers. She does take a long time to prepare and she occasionally comes up with interpretations of the evidence neither side intended, but I never have seen an occasion where she was anything less than 100 percent familiar with the issues before her. Bottom line: if you are an attorney who is prepared for a formal courtroom and prepared to follow the rules of court to a T, you will really like Judge Zuniga. If you are an informal attorney who addresses the person on the bench as "Judge" and doesn't know that the rules of court require an ex parte application to file a reply brief exceeding 10 pages, you will wind up on her bad side quickly.

Judge Zuniga is one of the most dishonest judges I have ever been privy to watching. She has literally operated a courtroom designed to operate how she chooses. This more often then not is unlawful and disparaging. When this judge favors a party the other better watch out because depending on their abilities will surely loose a good and honest case against straight crooks. My advice to all who been victimized by this judge is to be vocal on the internet, put up a website just to hear and register complaints against her. It may seem useless but after seeing the magnitude of her dishonesty something will form. I urge everyone affected to stand up against this crook who has sent folks to spend their entire lives in a prison while she remains free and able to recommit without fail. May peace be unto you.

Very nasty. Threw a book at a female DA one time. Likes men better than women. A real piece o work.

Dishonest, plays favorites. On one case, the judge invented a non-existent document to avoid reversing herself. At last count I found eight published reversals of her decisions by the Court of Appeal.

Palpable, blatant bias combined with overt hostility to disfavored parties and counsel preclude litigants from a fair trial from this judge. Refuses to rule on admissibility of evidence for days on end during trial.

My experience with her during the past 20+ years has always been positive. She is one of the hardest working judges on the bench, often staying till 9:00 P.M. to get cases settled. Treats SRLs with respect but does not coddle them.

A truly awful judge. Rude, plays favorites, and will intentionally violate the law in her rulings. Not particularly smart, but stubborn. Won't change her mind even if she is proven wrong. Can't imagine that she'd be any better in criminal cases.

Good, smart judge. Punctilious but still has a heart. Prefers male attorneys.
