Litigant

Comment #: CA2546
Rating:1.0
Comments:
He shows an incredible amount of bias during civil and criminal jury selection. In criminal jury trials, he favors the prosecution in the following ways: he will "rehabilitate" hostile and openly biased potential jurors, allow people in the jury box to say very prejudicial comments against defendants during voir dire, refuses to take juror misconduct seriously - both when parties act inappropriately with jurors, and when jurors act inappropriately, indeed quite egregiously, with each other and parties. He also fails to disclose his relationship to parties, attorneys, potential jurors. Judge Watson regularly waives defendants' rights (i.e. speedy trial) without their knowledge or consent. He has also ordered bltatntly unconstitutional conditions of OR release for criminal defendants.
