Genuinely terrible judge at this stage in his career. Often times seems to struggle to grasp the facts or law of the case and is forgetful about prior proceedings. Repeatedly displayed overt favoritism towards the other side (going so far as to compliment opposing counsel on their intelligence). Prone to result oriented rulings where facts and law that run contrary to the intended ruling will be ignored altogether.

Jeffrey Brand is the worst judge I've ever appeared before. It's almost funny how seriously this idiot takes himself, but neither I nor opposing counsel walked away satisfied with his bizarre and honestly unsupportable ruling.
It was so bad that opposing counsel actually agreed to a stip AFTER his ruling, because Brand clearly hadn't even bothered to read or understand the pleadings.
I've never felt compelled to rate a judge before, but it's honestly criminal that Judge Brand is allowed to decide cases. This fool should be disbarred, and even put in prison.

It can be proven by way of evidence his extreme bias towards plaintiffs. This is categorized in his own judicial opinions. While unfortunate, he holds a pattern of disregarding Constitutional law and credible unrefuted documents.

Judge Brand is brilliant, kind and steadfastly committed to justice. He was one of the most inspiring professors I had many years ago at USF law so I was happy when he inherited one of my (civil) cases along with the entire Dept. 22 docket in late 2020. He is effective and always caring toward everyone in his court despite the many challenges of his assignment.

Judge Brand is brilliant, fair, respectful and otherwise the best Judge anyone could hope for. This is based on 29 years of experience as a civil litigator. His background as a law professor and Dean of U.S.F. School of law has served him well, just as he has well served the countless students he taught and all that appear before him. My respect for him is boundless.
