i agreed exactly what this lawyer stated , he is friends with the disability right legal center, dismissed my case without me there, He shows up for court at the last minute carrying his paper coffee cup and brown paper bagthis is so true, Takes the bench 30 minutes later totally unprepared. It's apparent he has not read the briefs, shoots from the hip, doesn't even know what's in front of him, reads his research attorney's opinion for the first time from the bench, allows his personal opinion of counsel to get in his way, formulates an opinion of your case early on and then rules against you on everything if he doesn't like your case. He's lazy, defense crinmal lawyer of course love him there in partnership together under the mental health department thinks discovery fights are beneath him and should retire. Paper him.

Shoots from the hip, doesn't follow applicable legal standards and seems to view everything as "what's the prejudice"... I paper this judge everytime as you can't do worse in Long Beach.

Comments:
Judge DiLoreto made a killing as a personal injury attorney before taking the bench and carries that chip on his shoulder. It is clear he does not want to work but wants the respect and power that goes with the robe.

Comments:
He is personable, but not terribly industrious. He seems to frequently be on vacation, frequently entrusting his calendar to colleague judges, mostly Judge Madden. He appears to "get it right" but this may be due to the research attorney, who is bright and certainly "with it."

Comments:
He's not terrible judge, you can do a lot worse. He's got kind of a small-town personality, and isn't very formal, kind of a "local" attitude. But he's been on the bench a long time and knows his way around civil litigation.

Comments:
Judge DiLoretto appears to be fairly even-handed in his handling of criminal cases. He takes an active role in trying to settle the cases that he can. He is pleasant to deal with and tries to make rulings based on the law, not on how he feels about the party.

Judge DiLoreto doesn't appear to read moving papers or prepare for hearings in any way. He shoots from the hip when ruling and seems to rely entirely on his law clerk for legal guidance. He's a loose cannon and his courtroom is a trap for the unwary. Paper him if you can. You couldn't do worse.
