Comments:
Judge Kaddo had trouble hearing what was going on, interrupted the attorneys, and was a bully toward several female jurors. He seemed confused and repeated parts of the same script over and over. He singled out a female juror wearing a mask and made her feel uncomfortable (which she expressed to the clerk during the break) and then yelled at a juror who had requested to be dismissed because she had a baby at home and needed to provide childcare. His demeanor seemed like an ornery old man biased against women, very unprofessional.

Judge Kaddo heavily favors landlords. He broke the law in my case allowing a person with no standing to sue on behalf of the owner with no documentation of standing and allowed her to testify when she had not been listed as a witness. He heavily favors landlords and will bend all the laws and break a few more to make sure they win. Decided that the Glendale Just Cause Ordinance 9.30.030 only protects tenants and not subtenants based on the Plaintiff's council's "personal interpretation of the law", denied me a witness trial because I was 15 minutes late even though I have a disability which causes me hardship arriving to court, and allowed a surprise witness to testify. If you are a tenant and get Judge Kaddo you have to immediately ask for a new trial or you will be railroaded into a loss no matter what. He made it clear the minute I sat down that he believes that a privity of contract between a landlord and tenant trumps any other laws and allowed a woman who was not the owner to bring the case and testify even though she has no authority on behalf of the owner and was not listed as a witness at any point in the case, just verbally introduced at trial. Everyone had thought she was the owner of the property the entire time, and she was not, she just suddenly announced who she was at trial, had no proof she represented the owner, and Judge Kaddo literally took her word for it. He does show remarkable consideration towards hardship, but is so prejudiced in the law that it is impossible to have a fair trial. He's a corrupt landlords or maybe not landlord's lucky day.

Hard to believe this guy is still on the bench. Years ago, my wife and I got sued on some credit card debt and we prepared a demurrer. I had a hearing on another matter and she went to tell this guy I was handling another matter. Instead of putting the matter over for second call, he called her a Thanksgiving turkey (it was that time of year.). He overruled the demurrer and then entered her default, before I could get back (totally against the rules of procedure.). He is a straight tool and belongs behind bars.

Judge Kaddo seems very knowledgeable in rules of evidence and substantive law. He requires both sides to follow the rules of evidence, lay proper foundation, etc. He is respectful of jurors and they seem to like him and enjoy being in his courtroom.

The worst experience in a court room ever! Friend's case got transferred from another judge's court because it was getting late. We walked into his court and it's as if it he clerk woke him from his nap in chambers. He didn't let my friend tell his side of the story. The plaintiff lied under oath and my friend wasn't allowed to say anything.

Judge Kaddo has a very strong defense bias and, more disturbingly, a gender bias as well in favor of men. He will refer to a competent female trial attorney fighting for her client as "emotional". He, simply, is a bigot. He yelled at me throughout trial when all I was trying to do is protect my client's record in the event of an appeal. He vents about personal matters and jokes during a serious trial. He doesn't understand well settled law. Noteworthy, his memory is very bad and he has a hard time hearing and understanding jurors, witnesses, lawyers and his clerk. He has an ego larger than his courtroom and is easily confused due to, perhaps, age?? He should not be doing anything other than small claims court cases, if that. It is very troubling to know that he is on the bench and potentially impacting the lives of litigants in serious cares.

This judge is terrible and I won my case. He spends most of his time screaming at everyone involved. He doesn't listen to the evidence. He cuts people off when he thinks they are going too long. He is totally unpredictable on his rulings. Worst experience ever. I avoid him whenever possible!

Temperamental judge who runs his court like a reality show. Full of ego. He can't hear well and should either retire or get a hearing aid. Was overly pro plaintiff and do not believe he listened well.

Avoid this judge's courtroom at all costs. He is full of himself and conducts the court like a reality show. Don't think he listens well or that his decisions are unbiased.

He handled the situation at the courtroom really well. Very professional and has a sense of humor. I am a juror and it was my first time. I had a very good experience as a juror. He explains everything properly. He didn't made us feel intimidated and he made us feel very important.

Yikes! Kaddo is easily confused and pro-tenant. I strongly advise landlords to avoid his courtroom. I would especially avoid Kaddo if there is anything even a little complicated about your case or if you have a boisterous pro-per tenant.

Kaddo is easily confused and lacks courtroom control (which only adds to the confusion). Kaddo seemed very lost in a mess of tenant papers and other clutter leading him to become visibly frustrated with himself.

Kaddo is strongly pro-tenant. He raised a defense for the tenant and was very unhappy when I sternly reminded him the court court not raise or discuss defenses which were not raised in her Answer. Later on I had to read a code section to him.

However, if you are a tenant then Kaddo is a great choice. He is very easy to confuse and you can use that confusion to get him to dismiss the UD case.

Old and not terribly bright. That equals stubborn, and you don't want to be on the wrong side of stubborn.
