This judge is not on the side of justice. Rather, it seems as though she makes her judgement based on who she "likes" more or the side that isn't giving her a hard time. She completely disregards what is "lawful and fair" and allows for outrageous and unjust lawsuits to make their way through her courtroom. How u can rate a judge if she is sleeping during the trial. JUDGE IT MEANS A JUSTICE but unfortunately Miss. Laura A.Matz is way far away from JUSTICE

This is not a judge, she abuses her power. Should be removed from office since can not fulfill her duties of justice for all. Chooses a litigant and does anything for them to prevail. Allowes fake and fraudulent documents to be presented to jurors for "reading purpose only"and persuases the jurors to change mind if it's not in favor of her litigant.

Civil Litigation - Private

Very prejudiced judge, does not voice it but her actions through verdicts prove it. Refuses to recognize common sense and logic. At times seems physically present, mentally absent. Run from this judge if want a fair trial.

Civil Litigation - Private

Unclear how that kind person was appointed as judge. True embarrassment to profession. Lacks common sense and logics.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA10205
Possibly the most compelling Reason to abandon elections in favour of judicial appointments. This person is an embarrassment to the profession.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA8087
This is one of the least qualified jurists sitting on the L.A. Superior Court. She decides early on which litigant she favors and it becomes a foregone conclusion who's going to prevail. In the end, she has the winning litigant write her decision and adopts it with little or no modification, regardless of the soundness of the decision. If you have the misfortune of drawing Judge Matz, use a peremptory challenge immediately. You can't get a worse judge in L.A.

You could tell her lack of knowledge regarding wrongful foreclosures by the fact she does not even read the complaints. Caused my Attorney to re-write 4 amended complaints only to prove she had not even read them. Case is pending in the Supreme Court of California to no ones surprise.

Laura Matz loves her job, loves the law, and takes her responsibilities seriously. She functions at a very high level and expects/hopes that counsel will reciprocate. She is very courteous and direct. Top judge.
