Horrific! Lost our entire business because clearly this judge did not prudently review our case. A 3-day trial, hundreds of binders, no jury or court reporter AND he was able to render a judgment based on his 'recollection" weeks before?

This judge, unfortunately, appears to have no interest, patience or tolerance in hearing what minority litigants or lawyers, especially those in pro per have to say; even if they are on point about the law or the CCP. It's almost as if he treats them like criminals appearing before him - he used to be a criminal judge. He will excuse the gross errors of white/male lawyers, will even plead their cases for them. Seeing is really believing in his court. Sad and unfortunate. His staff, however, is on par.

A bad Judge. The Judge in a summary judgment hearing was totally uninterested in law or facts. He was bored and let it show. When confronted with facts that went against his reasoning he changed his reasoning to reach his desired result.

This man is the worst. If you are a female minority attorney, especially Asian, stay away. If you are a male and Asian attorney, stay away; especially, if you are Japanese. If you're White, on the other hand, he'll rule in you're favor in contradiction to the law. He's the worst judge I have ever been in front of as a lawyer. Chip on his shoulder perhaps.

Judge Oki is one of the best judges I have ever had the pleasure to appear before. I have had extensive experience in his courtroom. He is highly intelligent, very hard working, diligent, punctual, and unfailingly courteous. He issues well-reasoned, detailed tentative rulings well before the hearing date, thus allowing counsel to focus on the Court's concerns in preparation for the hearing. He allows counsel ample scope and time to make their oral arguments. He has a remarkable ability to maintain control over the proceedings without ever raising his voice or losing his temper. A true gentleman and a very, very fine judge!

Judge Oki works hard, is bright, is even tempered, and is punctual. He has the abilities to handle complex matters, and he treats jurors and attorneys with respect. I recommend him highly.
