Civil Litigation - Private

I tried a fraud case before Judge Rosenberg and found him fair, even-handed and well-informed. He was great with the jury and kept the trial moving without rushing the lawyers. One of the better trial judges I've had in my 38 years.

The comments of 06/17/15 and 09/17/15 are spot on. This judge is an abomination and a disgrace to the profession. He does not read the papers, his law clerk reads only parts of pleadings, the rulings are contrary to the clear facts and the clear law. This judge has a lot of reversals on appeal, especially for misapplying statutes. It is tragic because it causes litigants to engage in a lengthy and expensive appellate process but only for those who can afford the time and money. Landing in this courtroom almost guarantees a travesty of justice. Buyer beware. Affidavit this judge if you care about your case.

Horrible experience. Rude. Dismissive. Doesn't listen. Makes decisions from the cuff without a clear understanding of law & facts.

Comment #: CA7125
We expected this judge to be well-reasoned and fair and to follow the law, but he was negligence with a smile. His courtroom is a kangaroo court wherein the judge does not appear to read papers and the clerk only appears to do a cursory superficial reading and irresponsibly makes rulings based on personal bias and prurient hearsay not even relevant to the legal issues. The preliminary rulings were shabbily reasoned, irresponsible and indelible, with no chance of a good faith hearing in the courtroom to reverse the ruling. Landing in this courtroom is a frightening ordeal because it does not appear guided by law or reason or a sense of duty to read papers and understand the legal issues. This judge has been around unopposed so long that a sense of complacency and unaccountability seems pervasive.
