Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA2220
untrustworthy. went into settlement discussions with her. she was very involved. at one point, it seemed we were close to settling. she asked us privately what was out 'bottom line number', which she shared with her, privately by agreement. minutes later she came back, after telling our number to the other side. she chastised us for not wanting to settle for less, threatening to withhold mandatory attorneys fees if we took it to trial in front of her. her desire to reduce her workload is greater than her desire for justice and integrity. never again will I trust her, ever.

Very condescending to both parties and counsel. Sorry if it's an inconvenience for Your Honor to actually hear a matter on calendar. Newsflash, a landlord doesn't really want to have an unlawful detainer trial either but when the tenant refuses to move out or settle, we don't really have a choice, do we? Seems to be more interested in climbing the ladder than doing her job.

Not the most pleasant judge to deal with.
