Comments:
Name of the game with Cramin is Judicial Economy. Lots of case load for collection matters, no non-sense, asks direct questions, and will stop you, or any pro-per that doesn't answer direct.

This guy, granted judgement for Attorney's fee for 6k on a senior who was in his 80, had left over income of $100 a month when he paid his rent. That $100 would be for food, now the 80 year old will literally die. Such a judgement, how could it not dishonor this profession, how could it not shame this country. He's been on the bench for too long, kick him out.

This guy is a true gem. You know what you’ll get before you walk in. A truly skilled judge. I’ve been appearing in front of him for over 15 years. A true joy

Comments:
He's in limited civil doing collections work for a reason. He seems like a nice enough fellow, but he's the most debtor-friendly judge I have ever seen. He will actually tell judgment debtors - from the bench - how to avoid paying their creditors. He will counsel judgment debtors on what they should do in order to not pay and preserve rights to challenge judgments. I have never seen a judge so determined to undermine judgments that his own Court issues. It's really amazing...and has to be borderline unethical. But it is what it is....

This is a bad judge, He been handling my 2 cases and he ordered against me on both cases. He either discriminated against me since I am Vietnamese and/or
he has some connection with other lawyers since they are filed fraudulent lawsuits against me. They fraudulent produced documents, but this judge either cannot see them and/or he did know and ignored it.

Unconventional but ultimately has no ego and is open to changing his mind.

Comments:
He is an undeniably nice person. But he has been completely unprepared on every motion I've had before him. He reads nothing beforehand. Nothing. So plan to speak your entire motion when you get there. If the motion is significant, he will likely take it under submission, at which point he will start doing some light reading. In my experience, he has ignored the law to go with his "gut" and takes justice lightly. Again, a nice person, but should not be on the bench.

Comments:
I know the comments are all over the place. I think most have to do with his time on the bench in UD cases back in Laguna Hills. I don't disagree with those comments, but that was UD. However, I've appeared in front of him several times now that he's in Central. He reads the papers, he is extremely well versed on the law, is patient, and is one of the few judges that I have confidence will make an unbiased decision. I think he should be a trial judge in unlimited. There are no good judges left.

Comments:
Extremely biased. Will interrupt parties and will not act as a judge but counsel parties from the bench. Does not use the law but his own opinions to make decisions. He should be removed.

Comments:
The doors opened to the courtroom punctually, the court room staff checked in the counsel and self represented litigants in a timely manner, preferably throughout. Judge Cramin took the bench on time, something I expected and federal court, but I am sad to rarely see that in state court. Although my matter was 20 on a calendar of 36 cases, it was disposed of within 40 minutes. Judge Cramin demonstrated that he had clearly read my admittedly late filed opposition, and ruled correctly strictly on the law and the facts presented. In the 19 cases that preceded mine, he was both congenial and cordial with counsel and litigants were in pro per.

I will look forward to appearing before Judge Cramin again, although 90% or more of my appearances are in federal court. On a final note, he took a moment to comment on the high quality of the paperwork I had filed on behalf of my client, as he had done on a prior matter. Too many judges fail to distinguish between shoddy work and quality work, simply issuing rulings. When care and attention have gone into providing high-quality legal work, it is a pleasure to be before a judge who not only acts upon it in accordance with the law, but acknowledges the effort.

Comments:
Unprepared and lazy. makes strange and unreasonable demands of defendants and then makes rulings without any reference to law. If you are attempting to defend a client in a collection case, you might as well go straight to an appeal, as you lost your case when you walked in the door.

Corey would make a great night court show judge. He doesn't listen, makes poor decisions, and couldn't oporate without a cleck. He's a joke. Always get a continuous if he's on the bench. He's terrible!

Comments:
If you are prepared beforehand and you've been responsible in filing and moving your case on the substance and procedure, you will have no problems with this judge. If you are not paying attention or treating your matter as a limited case of no consequence you may be not given benefit of the doubt if you've made a mistake. Reviews saying an affidavit of prejudice should be filed against this judge are either ill-informed or biased.

Comments:
1) his court date docket is all over the place and inaccurate.
2) He disposes of cases so he cannot be investigated
3) Biased towards collections and rent-an attorney
4) Pro-per: hostile towards
5) Holds court trials without both sides present
6) When collections attorneys mess up, he aids them by dismissing case in their favor and cancels OSC date (one day before) so hearing won't occur.

Tells defendants and their attorneys that he won't overturn their judgments.

His courtroom needs a new judge and new clerk.

I am ashamed that he is a member of our legal community in Orange County.

An old school judge. Sharp and no nonsense. We desperately need him in unlimited actions.

When he was a commissioner handling UD actions he was very one-sided. I will agree with those comments. However, handling civil actions, he is one of the few judges who is not only pleasant, but even handed. It's refreshing these days to even have a judge like this.

In 33 years plus in OC, this is one of the worst judges around. Does not read any papers and is totally unprepared. I have been an attorney and litigant in front of him. Although he is pleasant, he just seems lazy and unprepared.

Comments:
Any collection defendant should file an affidavit of prejudice against this judge. He used to be even handed and apply the law and follow the evidence code, then suddenly something happened to him, just before the collection courts became consolidated and he became essentially the only limited jurisdiction collection judge handling all the cases in the county and rapidly handing out judgments to all debt buyers, even those without proper evidence.

Judge Cramin never lets me talk. He usually doesn't read the papers. His clerk will even look at you like you are nuts if you give them papers to read. He then takes the bench with no understanding and refuses to listen. After trying to get a word in edge wise, if you can finally get through to him, he'll do the right thing, though.

There's very good reason that he's stuck in "limited civil" -- the tiny cases. Because he does not have the respect of his colleagues on the bench. There are good reasons for that.

Is buddy-buddy with certain attorneys who appear regularly in his courtroom. When those attorneys appear, whatever they claim, they get. The judge acts as their advocate, not as a judge at all, no matter the facts or the law. BEWARE THIS JUDGE!!!! Will be dinged henceforth and here forward in all cases. He is a serious problem for the bench.

He is not a proper judge. He is a landlord himself, who rules however he feels (and he always sides with the landlord), disregarding procedure, law, evidence and testimony. He is rude and condescending, and does not deserve to be on the bench.

Judge Cramin is an excellent civil judge, who I have experienced both at Central Santa Ana and Laguna Hills courthouses. He is sharp on civil issues and reads cases--a real plus. Don't know why he is in Laguna Hills. A keeper.
