Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA4973
Rating:8.3
Comments:
Overall, she is above average. She is not the best judge on the bench, but she is far from the worst. You could end up with far worse.

I have had many civil cases before her, and three motions for summary judgment -- no trials, however. I do not 170.6 her when I draw her on a new case.

She has handled some very complex legal issues, and I generally feel that her rulings were fair. On one MSJ, her tentative was against me, but she listened to my argument and changed the tentative. It was a complex and novel issue. I was impressed (and thankful) that she was open to reconsidering her initial decision.

Her temperament is pretty good compared to other judges, but most judges are terrible. I have seen her be pretty harsh, but that has been pretty rare.

She is completely illogical, and she doesn't bother letting the facts or the law get in the way of her decision. Avoid her at all costs. It's hard to believe that, with her record of reversals, no one else has weighed in on rating her before this.
