Civil Litigation - Private

Rating:10.0
Comments:
I had two trials with this judge a few years ago and found him to be top notch. His rulings were fair and well reasoned. He let both sides try their cases without unnecessary interference. He is now the presiding judge and is doing a great job.

Civil Litigation - Govt.

Comment #: CA11981
Rating:2.4
Comments:
When a Evidence Trial is scheduled and then the Trial result's in a Hearing where not a single piece of evidence is presented, I would say there is a lack of due process. An Appeal is necessary when the Court does not follow proper procedure. Not impressed at all very one sided.

Judge DeAlba is very fair. A lot of DA's don't like him because they think he is too fair, which is sad.

As mentioned before, he is a political animal. But so what? He is very smart, congenial, and even-handed. One of the best on Sacramento's bench.

Comments:
Great judge to been in trial with. I have had several trials in front of him and really enjoyed them. He is even tempered, fair, pleasant and extremely knowledgeable. In his chambers, he is very easy going, but once you go on the record, he is a stickler for procedure. He demands that the attorneys treat each other with respect and courtesy. He runs a very formal courtroom. You'd better be prepared, know the law and know your case. He does have a bit of an inflated ego, so if you can deal with that, you'll be just fine.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comments:
Very even and thoughtful.
Actually listens to the parties, and makes up his mind after he hears the facts.
