So many judges are reluctant to make tough decisions. Not Judge Nevitt. VERY even-handed, makes well-reasoned decisions, not afraid to reveal a liar. Good judge.

Judge Nevitt has terrific demeanor. I am sure he is usually a decent judge. But he seemed to forget 1L on my case and I happen to be someone who has been successful in having judges disciplined and recused from my case. The only explanation I can think of to Nevitt's lack of upholding the law is that he thought making little legal errors to get revenge for his friends would not be so bad.

He refused to allow me to see the beginning of the other party's videos produced as evidence and he took property rights from me without notice. It was a restraining order hearing and he said my neighbor could park on my property and I could not tow him.

This is an intelligent judge who is totally unbiased. Not much personality, but you're not in court for a comedy show. A little rigid in his approach, but as fair as fair can be. A terrific judge who is completely mindful of his responsibilities and is willing to work hard to make the correct decisions. If you're looking for a biased judge, go elsewhere. Judge Nevitt is among the best of the San Diego bench! Also, unlike some of his peers, Judge Nevitt is not afraid to point out his findings concerning witness credibility. This is an excellent attribute. He is confident in his decisions and does not apologize to the losing party.

The only impression I ever got from this judge was that he believes his job is to make an accurate legal ruling, and he has absolutely no other bias about anything. That's why I'm always relieved when I pull him. We have "the law" to help take the uncertainty out of the outcome of various types of disputes. This judge practices that philosophy.

Generally makes up his mind ahead of time and will not change it. Not very strong on the evidence code, but strong on civil procedure.
